When I first got my hands on this Himeko Nova costume, my immediate impression was that the texture was even better than expected. The white top is made of a lustrous fabric that casts a subtle sheen under studio lights. The golden embroidery at the collar and chest isn't cheap print work, but genuine, tactile craftsmanship; paired with tassels and metal chains, it produces crisp clinking sounds with every step. For the wig, I selected a highly saturated dark red with a subtle gradient. Given the character's setting and my own natural height, putting on the wig and stepping into the golden high heels instantly maximized the visual presence, transforming the entire aura. For makeup, the focus was placed on the eyes: yellow-green contact lenses were used to replicate her eye color, the outer corners were deepened with red eyeliner to sculpt the contour, and the lipstick was a vintage true red, resulting in an overall makeup look that is both gorgeous and elegantly cool.
That lance prop in hand was definitely the biggest physical challenge of this Cosplay photoshoot. The pole is quite long, and the top is adorned with golden orbital rings and a banner, giving it substantial weight. While posing, I had to balance the prop while keeping the flowing drape of the skirt intact. Due to the high slit design of the skirt, merely turning sideways or taking a stride naturally accentuates the leg lines, truly fitting the look of a long-legged bishoujo. The photographer frequently had me shift my weight onto one leg while capturing shots, which allowed my body's curves to stretch out more gracefully, evoking that poised, noble demeanor.
The first two photos were taken in a studio set up with red and white drapery, complemented by red roses and golden props. During lighting, strong key lights were deliberately used to highlight the contours of the outfit and the metallic textures. That feeling of direct, piercing light imbued the entire composition with a sacred atmosphere. The subsequent two photos were casual mirror selfies taken during breaks between shots; although the background is a bit cluttered, they offer a more authentic look at the complete prop and the realistic on-body fit. Being 1.8 meters tall provides a huge advantage when wearing this kind of high-slit gown; stepping into high heels creates a strikingly elongated visual proportion for the legs, while the golden constellation line patterns across the skirt shift beautifully with the light as I move. Although putting on this ensemble was rather intricate—especially adjusting the golden epaulets and cape on the shoulders—seeing the interplay of light and shadow in the final photos made every effort worthwhile. The entire journey was not merely about showcasing the character, but also an incredible experience in fashion and styling.
