From the very beginning of preparations, this Wuthering Waves themed shoot was anchored within this Traditional Chinese style scene featuring a classical wooden couch and plum blossom backdrop. To harmonize with the overall visual texture, the wardrobe utilized a white halter-neck cut adorned with golden motifs; black-and-gold embroidery along the neckline resonated with the black-and-blue spliced sleeves at the shoulders. Red ribbons accented the waist, while golden metallic thigh garters and pearl chains along the leg infused a crisp, sleek edge into the otherwise gentle silhouette. The wig was styled into a voluminous high updo flanked by soft waves, crowned with red-and-blue hair accessories. For makeup, reddish-orange contacts illuminated the gaze, while a horizontal scar painted across the brow added an air of enigmatic backstory, with pearl bracelets and reddish-brown gloves completing the subtle details.

The prop consisted of a folding fan emblazoned with blue-and-gold patterns, and holding it demanded numerous angle adjustments throughout the shoot. The height of the fan and the rotation of the wrist directly influenced the visual balance—especially in Photo 4, where both fans were unfurled simultaneously, requiring me to balance physical weight with arm extension so the movement looked graceful yet fluid. The ambient illumination leaned toward warm amber tones, washing over the carved wooden furniture and fur rugs, while pink floral branches and blue-and-white porcelain vases in the background provided lovely chromatic contrast. Seated or half-kneeling across the wooden couch, crossing my legs elegantly revealed the draped layers of the skirt fabric while naturally contouring the leg lines. Black patent block-heeled high heels visually elongated my proportions, anchoring the floating lightness of the attire with a grounded center of gravity.

The entire shoot represented a gradual process of bringing character interpretation into physical reality. From the tactile rendering of the garment and the environmental palette to nonverbal physical cues, everything required constant calibration before the lens. A Traditional Chinese style scene creates a distinctive chemistry with this styling; whether sitting or leaning, the ribbons and woven patterns along the hem integrated seamlessly into the setting. For indoor lighting, to carve out dimensional facial contours, the key light was positioned slightly to the front-side while reflectors lifted shadow details to accentuate the makeup. The final images achieved our intended texture, delivering both rich pictorial depth and nuanced emotional resonance.
