For this Honkai Impact 3rd Kiana cosplay shoot, my main goal was to convey the character's trademark vibrant, energetic spirit. Handling the wig was pivotal: the silver-white short hair needed to be texturized with hair wax for buoyant volume, then locked in with setting spray so it wouldn't flatten throughout a full day of shooting at the convention. I trimmed plenty of wispy layers, allowing the feathering along the cheeks to flatter my face shape.

I put substantial effort into the eye makeup. Expansive reddish-brown diffuse blending was swept across the outer corners and lower lash lines, creating a bold, vivid contrast against the luminous light-blue contact lenses. To look clean on camera, the foundation was kept pristine and translucent. For the lips, I opted for a glossy peach tint, keeping the overall makeup aligned with an anime aesthetic.

Regarding the wardrobe, the color-blocked design of purple, white, and black offers rich structural layering, paired with white arm sleeves and delicate geometric accents. The purple blossom at the chest and the ribbon around the neck further elevate the ensemble's visual depth. The black gloves in the first photo were somewhat time-consuming to put on; to ensure full attention to detail, I had to ensure the wrist seams remained properly aligned during every pose.

Shooting at the convention hall meant dealing with busy booth backdrops and complex ambient lighting. To make the subject pop, the photographer used a wide aperture to blur out the background. I did my best to follow the light, adjusting angles while keeping an upright, poised posture. In medium close-ups, subtle shifts in gaze and micro-movements of the fingers—such as gently brushing the chin or resting my face in my hands—kept the compositions lively and natural. For full-body profile shots, I focused on the graceful flare of the skirt and crossed my arms organically.

The entire shoot was a joy, with the venue lighting and atmosphere adding immense charm to the costume. Communicating our creative vision beforehand with the photographer streamlined shooting efficiency tremendously.
