During the shoot, this white-and-purple color-schemed skirt hem felt incredibly voluminous, and the inner layer of purple-pink glossy tulle reflected rich layers from specific angles. To match the overall cool composure, the wig was deliberately designed with a gradient from silver-white to purplish-red, and the length and curve of the side ponytail needed careful control during turns to manage the swing. The small purple accessories on the headpiece, along with the dark purple bow knots on the chest and waist, served as excellent visual anchors against the pure white base fabric, keeping the overall styling from looking too monotonous.
The location was chosen inside a studio featuring a massive arched wooden door and dark solid wood benches, with a white vintage carved piano serving as the main prop. On the day of the shoot, relatively strong natural light streamed in from the side window, with light spots falling onto the folds of the white tulle dress, creating an intense contrast between light and dark. Since highlights are highly prone to overexposure, the photographer adjusted the camera position several times when guiding my standing position and facial orientation, aiming to highlight the background's depth while ensuring sufficiently soft fill light on my face. The high-angle composition perfectly utilized the advantage of the overhead light, spreading out the complete circular contour of the skirt hem to keep the visual focus highly centered.
In terms of physical coordination, once the long white gloves were worn, controlling the tension in the fingers became exceptionally important. Whether lightly brushing the neckline with one hand or resting it above the piano keys, I tried my best to keep the wrist lines smooth and relaxed, preventing the glove fabric from forming stiff creases. The high ponytail of the wig also needed to be perfectly tucked behind the ear at the exact moment of turning around and looking back, ensuring that my facial features remained unobstructed by the hair.
This shoot did indeed reference the matching logic of a couple's outfit; while adjusting the details of these bridal elements, I kept thinking about how to echo Mei's outfit in color and temperament. The white-and-purple gradient color scheme combined with the ritualistic feel of a bridal look, paired with the archway and white piano, created a quiet atmosphere full of deep bonds. Although the official shooting time was quite long, the moment the light and shadow intertwined, the overall visual effect became highly ideal, serving as a very complete studio recording.
The entire shooting process provided me with more practical experience in managing the styling of such large-volume gowns; from handling the wig to laying out the skirt hem, every single step required meticulous care.
