The group photos were shot on October 5th, and all the solo retouched photos have been completed this week. I usually procrastinate when editing photos, but the coordination during the early stage of this set was excellent, and the lighting was translucent and bright, so the efficiency of releasing the photos was faster than I ever expected.
This time, the shoot mainly captured candid moments in a European-style building exterior, such as the expansive stone paving and the domed corridors. The photographer pressed the camera position very low, almost against the ground, using a wide angle to stretch the silhouette of the skirt hem, which, combined with capturing the exact moment the wind blew, added a touch of airiness to the frame.
The palette and paintbrush held by the character served as the core visual elements. We spent some time studying how to blend them into the background, trying our best to let the light and shadow fall naturally onto the pigment color blocks of the palette without being disturbed by the cluttered architectural reflections around. The overall costume features a white and blue color scheme; the layers of the bow and ruffles on the chest are more intricate than they appear from afar. Paired with a black beret and white flower ornaments on the side, the entire look carries a clean texture with an artistic flair.
Personally, I really like the photo with the backlit staircase, where the light streams down from above, outlining the edges of the blue hair and the hat, making the character look much softer. Although the floor was very hard during the actual shoot, and sitting or crouching to strike poses required repeated adjustments, the final composition and perspective relationships made all that hard work entirely worth it. This successful session of Cosplay photography marks a beautiful page in my Casual cosplay daily logs. The group retouched photos will continue to be released later.
