The headpiece serves as the soul of the look—a grey-blue straight-bang short wig paired with vibrant bright-blue highlights, plus stacked white ruffles, red silk flowers, and long tassels on both sides. This creates rich visual layering while echoing the character's lazy yet lively traits.
Regarding the photoshoot location, I chose a vintage architectural platform with traditional wooden railings and gray roof tiles for Outdoor portrait photography. A wide-aperture lens softly blurred the deep green vegetation and distant city contours, making the vibrant red, white, and blue color palette stand out cleanly against such a richly layered background. Natural diffuse light was just right, without harsh shadows, rendering full textures for the red silk-satin and fluffy white plush shawl while preventing detail loss from overexposure.
To restore the character's dynamic charm in static photos, I conceived several different sets of poses. A standing pose with one leg raised stretched visual proportions beautifully, while fully displaying the thigh-high socks and white garter loops under the high-slit skirt in this garter belt outfit. Turning sideways looking back or leaning on railings highlighted the large backless tailoring—this touch of subtle charm fitted perfectly with the character's cat-like lazy demeanor. The black patent leather high heels on my feet effectively sculpted ankle lines, adding grounding weight to the overall look. During the shoot, the white plush shawl not only enhanced visual splendor, but also served as a practical prop for warmth in breezy outdoor weather. Whether draping naturally or wrapped around arms, it provided great visual guidance in composition.
For makeup, emphasis was placed on eye definition, using eyeliner and curled eyelashes to shape that signature anime doll-like feel. Emphasizing a natural transition between aegyo sal and blush allowed facial contours to look three-dimensional and refined on camera without overpowering the wig's texture. From outfit prep to wrapping up the shoot, every detail adjustment was crucial. Wearing this seemingly elaborate Cheongsam in a real-world setting allowed me to genuinely feel the lively atmosphere of the character in 2D space. This process of converting game illustration into real portrait photography requires not only precise makeup and styling accuracy, but also finding those character-defining moments in dynamic performance. This attempt, in both color coordination and body line presentation, left a wonderful visual record—a highly complete Cheongsam cosplay piece.
