This outdoor location shoot for Fate/Grand Order Meltryllis was arranged on a seaside rocky shore. The centerpiece of this styling is the bright blue bodysuit, overlaid with a white off-the-shoulder ruffle wide sleeve top. The sleeves are exceptionally wide and the fabric is relatively structured, holding great volume when caught in the sea breeze; however, due to the large windward area, the collar and shoulder positions required non-stop adjustments during shooting to prevent slipping or distortion. The gigantic deep blue bow on the head is the visual anchor of the whole look; its long ribbons trail behind, requiring careful attention during every repositioning so they wouldn't be stepped on or tangled by the wind.

For the wig, long straight light blue hair was selected with blunt bangs trimmed. Because of the strong sea winds, the wig was extremely prone to tangling, so wide-tooth combs and wig conditioning spray were constantly used between takes. In terms of makeup, focus was placed on a cold, aloof eye look, choosing light blue colored contacts to match the overall cool-toned atmosphere. The lower body was paired with silver stockings made of reflective fabric along with customized foot accessories. Because the reef surfaces are uneven and remarkably abrasive, shifting poses on the rocks while wearing smooth stockings required extreme caution—a slight misstep could cause snags or slips. I attempted several sitting and half-kneeling poses to showcase the leg contours, which truly tested core balance, demanding constant core engagement to keep the postures stretched and graceful.

The weather on the day of the shoot was cloudy; the sea took on a grayish-blue palette and the light was relatively soft without harsh direct sun, making skin texture appear far more translucent. The photographer shot from low upward angles or used rocks as foreground elements to add depth to the frame, capturing dynamic moments synchronized with rolling ocean waves. In post-processing, to enhance the overall agility of the image, subtle bubble and soft flare effects were overlaid, bringing the visual closer to the aquatic essence of the character's setting. Regarding props, the fishtail-shaped decorations along the legs needed to be precisely angled every time I sat down; otherwise, they would appear rigid on camera, and the curvature along the edges needed micro-adjustments to align with the leg lines.

The entire shoot was an ongoing battle against the sea breeze and abrasive rocks. Shooting on-location in a bodysuit by the sea meant not only maintaining elegance in every movement, but also safeguarding the integrity of the costume at all times. Yet seeing the final photos made all those troubles worthwhile. For cosplayers who love outdoor shoots, the seaside is indeed a fantastic spot for stunning photos, but be sure to check the tide tables in advance, prepare sun protection and slip-resistant gear, and bring extra pairs of spare stockings to prevent accidental damage on the rocks.
