[Iochi Mari cosplay] Blue Archive: New Qipao and a Traditional Wooden Lodge

This white-and-blue modernized Chinese-style Qipao fits wonderfully, and the semi-sheer fabrics paired with delicate lace trims are my absolute favorite details. Because the textile is lightweight and breathable, prolonged shooting under warm studio lighting never felt stifling, effortlessly tracing natural body curves while preserving the vibrant energy and sheer translucence characteristic of 2D characters.

Before shooting, I spent dedicated time grooming the long straight golden wig and bangs, anchoring the animal ears securely to prevent them from slipping mid-pose. Pulling on the over-the-knee white stockings and stepping into the Japanese-style wooden lodge set brought the atmospheric mood together instantly. To highlight the tailoring nuances across camera angles, we experimented with seated, looking-back, forward-leaning, and standing poses.

In particular, the high side slits of the Qipao and the underlying lace safety shorts flattered my leg contours across various stances. The photographer creatively incorporated cherry blossoms, woven rush cushions, and wooden window lattices as foreground elements; warm amber lighting rendered my skin luminous and clear while accentuating facial three-dimensionality. Paired with large-diameter contact lenses, the eyes sparkled with the character's signature lively spirit.

For props, a bedside lantern and chess pieces across the table served as subtle, atmospheric accents. We shifted the visual weight of the hair and animal ears slightly toward the side, which, aligned with my leg lines, conveyed her unique playfulness during dynamic motion or crouching poses. After wrapping up, we reviewed every frame's composition and made subtle color-grading tweaks to retain the delicate fabric textures. The shoot was immensely enjoyable, and the comfort of this new Qipao gave me plenty of room for creative expression.
