For this shoot in Chongqing, I chose to bring Yvonne to life. Preparations began well in advance, starting with hair and makeup. The key challenge lay in translating that subtle CG quality from the original concept art onto a real human frame. The pink wig was smoothed and layered; the black horn ornaments and pointed pink horns at the crown had to be anchored firmly at the roots to keep from shifting during head turns. The customized elf ears sat flush against my ears without impairing hearing. The eye makeup utilized deep purple-toned eyeshadow paired with pale aqua-green cosmetic contacts to elongate the eye shape, capturing the steely, aloof gaze characteristic of a dragon girl. The wardrobe coordination was equally meticulous: the pink jacket, off-white mechanical armor plating, and black base layer each featured distinct textures, creating rich tactile contrast when worn together. The armor components were crafted from rigid materials to maintain crisp lines, though they slightly restricted bending at the waist.
The shooting location was an esports room dripping with heavy cyberpunk atmosphere, relying primarily on violet, blue, and touches of red ambient lighting. In discussions with photographer Ziqian Ain9, we finalized several core visuals centered around leaning back in the gaming chair with legs tucked up to showcase the waistline and leg contours. The pose in Photo 1 appears relaxed on the surface, but my entire core was fully engaged: lifting the legs, pointing the toes, and tightening the abdomen to allow the rim lights to carve across my thighs and abs, accentuating muscle tone. The pink-and-blue tactical firearm looked weighty and proved genuinely heavy in hand; raising it required keeping the arms relaxed rather than rigid while maintaining martial power. Throughout the shoot, Ziqian Ain9 continuously fine-tuned lighting angles, demanding pinpoint precision for every beam—especially the specular highlights along the legs and the scale textures at the waist, where any slight deviation could flatten the waistline or distort leg proportions.
During post-processing, to match that polished CG art style, the skin texture was refined with great delicacy, shaping specular highlights on the thighs into a supple, dewy finish that felt sculptural yet disciplined. High-pass sharpening on the wig defined individual strands under the neon glow, lending a subtle metallic sheen. Recreating the character in full gear while producing such cool, alluring shots was deeply gratifying after all the prep work. Compared to static concept poses, our live-action shoot incorporated conscious visual weight balancing—such as the necklines framed by the black choker and the studded hardware around the ankles—to showcase the full richness of this design. Mastering lighting control and character posture throughout this session was truly an invaluable learning experience.
