I've always loved Yin Ziping's 'Jade Marrow Ice Heart' skin in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, and this time taking advantage of a convention photo opportunity, I finally got to shoot it. Saving the world with medicine is her core profession, but in my vision, wearing this outfit, I especially wanted to express her dashing and confident vibe of 'I want to take on three.' The costume's design blends the gentleness of a Chinese cheongsam with the playfulness of 2D attire, featuring a white primary color scheme paired with black piping, complemented by exquisite subtle patterns and ruffles, making it visually very clean and sharp. To match the overall styling, I specially wore White stockings, along with white platform shoes, which not only elongated the leg lines but also made the overall color scheme more unified.
Speaking of the shooting process, the venue choice this time was very industrial, with a huge exhibition hall, grey concrete floors, and steel structures at the top, forming a strong contrast with our pure white, flowing attire, making the main subject stand out even more. The prop is a white long dao with a long ribbon attached to the hilt. To make the ribbon present a nice curve in the frame, I tried swinging it several times, adjusting the point of exertion and line of sight.
In pose design, I didn't limit myself to the quiet state of a healer. For instance, in the shot sitting on the black folding ladder, I chose to cross my legs, which could simultaneously showcase the leg lines and the texture of the stockings while allowing my upper body to lean slightly forward, holding the long dao horizontally to present a ready-to-go posture prepared for battle at any moment. As for the kneeling shot on the blanket, with one hand supporting the ground and the other holding the dao, body leaning forward, it was meant to capture that dynamic tension; paired with the uplifting ribbon, it felt like I was about to rush out and 'take on three' in the next second. The standing posture shot features feet together standing on a white blanket with hands crossed in front of the chest, representing a relatively restrained yet still upright posture.
The entire shooting process went very smoothly. With white hair ornaments on top, black blunt bangs, and twin tails, to recreate the character's temperament, I specifically emphasized the eye makeup in my styling, wearing circle lenses to make the gaze look sharper. The costume's waist-cinching design is extremely flattering to the figure, and the fluffy hemline contrasts nicely with the form-fitting upper body. In cool-toned environments like exhibition halls, white clothes are actually quite difficult to light, requiring constant adjustment of lighting angles to highlight the garment's subtle patterns and layering. I really enjoyed this shoot; whether it was the dao-holding movements or the control of positioning, I tried my best to make them crisp and neat, hoping to showcase Yin Ziping's multifaceted nature of possessing both a healer's benevolent heart and combat strength.
