This time, bringing this Everson swimsuit outfit to shoot at the Chimelong water park, the overall experience was completely different from previous static shoots in a studio or at the beach. To fit Everson's elf setting in Azur Lane, I prepared the silver-gray wig and elf ear props for a long time in advance. In such a high-temperature outdoor environment, wearing skin-contact elf ear props is actually very easy to sweat and slip off, so I used a lot of anti-sweat tape to fix them. The makeup was also specially changed to waterproof base makeup and lip glaze, so even after soaking in the water for a long time, the makeup wouldn't melt too awkwardly in front of the lens.

The clothing chose a one-piece swimsuit dominated by white and light blue, paired with a large amount of lace, ruffles, and translucent tulle materials. This outfit is very fluffy and cute when dry, but once in the water, the wet fabric completely conforms to the body. To capture the underwater clarity and transparency seen in picture 3, we deliberately chose to go into the water in the afternoon when the sunlight was strongest, utilizing backlight and the shimmering water surface to increase the layering of the picture. However, this also caused frequent difficulty in keeping eyes open during shooting, requiring constant angle adjustments to protect the catchlights in the eyes.

Because it was at a large-scale water park like Chimelong in Guangdong, there were many tourists around. To avoid the crowds and capture a clean background, we had to wake up very early or find some slightly remote wading areas, while ensuring the water depth was appropriate. When sitting in picture 1, the water level just covered the calves, the sand at the bottom of the water was illuminated golden by the sunlight, and the reflected light naturally filled the character with a wide range of warm light. For the side-profile look-back shot in picture 2, attention had to be paid to tensing the lines of the legs and waist, while letting the wig braids hang down naturally. The braids were too heavy, becoming even heavier after absorbing water, so when shaking the head, not only did I have to control my expression, but I also had to prevent the wig from hitting my face.

The underwater part (picture 3) was the hardest to shoot. After the clothes became wet and translucent, the overall texture needed to be controlled, fortunately, the white swimsuit fabric is relatively thick and the lining fits well. The hands hanging naturally at the sides well showcased the curves of the waist and hips. The legs appeared slightly distorted in the underwater part due to light refraction, so during post-processing photo selection, I deliberately picked one that had water ripples while keeping the limbs stretched and relaxed.

Wearing elf ears is actually a technical job; not only must it fit the curve of the auricle, but contouring shading must also be used to blend the ears and face together, otherwise it will look very abrupt. Throughout the shooting session, soaking in the water for too long made my fingers pruney, but seeing how well the light, shadow, water ripples, and the character's state blended together in the final photos made it completely worth it. I hope this set of summer water-play records can let you feel a trace of refreshing coolness, and also leave a special summer archive for my anime cosplay life.
