I traveled to Kamakura for a shoot of Chihaya Kousaka from YUZU SOFT's Natsuzora Kanata. Because the character is deeply tied to the setting of an eternal summer island and a girl with only three days of memories, an authentic beach location was essential. The styling focused on the long black hair styled into twin tails, requiring the yellow hair ribbons to be firmly pinned against strong ocean gusts. The outfit featured a white sailor-collar dress trimmed with navy stripes, a blue ribbon at the chest, a straw hat, and brown sandals, radiating midsummer ambiance.

Shooting on location was physically demanding; breaking waves constantly soaked my footwear and drenched the dress hem, yet these tactile elements lent genuine vitality to the set. The first photo captures a profile glance toward the camera with a hand steadying the straw hat as the breeze lifts the hair; the second shows a front-facing shot lifting the skirt, creating a playful contrast against her inner melancholy; the third is my favorite—walking barefoot toward the sea carrying sandals, a back view that embodies her poignant destiny. Seaside photography carries unpredictability, but the natural interplay of light, sea breeze, and rolling tide cannot be replicated indoors. In color grading, cooler hues across the sand and water helped evoke the lonely, bittersweet tone intrinsic to Natsuzora Kanata.
