On Day 1 of CP, I arrived at the Guangzhou Anime Convention venue wearing this marine-themed blue-and-white gradient jellyfish bunny outfit. For this shoot on the outdoor flagstone path at CPGZ05, the photographer 猫叔Meow was incredible at capturing the perfect moments, especially using the natural diffused light under the tree shade to beautifully restore the gradient layers of the dress and the texture of the ribbons.

Let's start with the details of the styling. The hairstyle is mainly light pink with aqua blue dip-dyes at the ends, and playful small braids on both sides, paired with a very prominent huge pink-and-white bunny ear headband, making the overall tone look translucent yet lively. For makeup, I intentionally enlarged my eye contours, paired them with light-colored contacts, and added some blush on the cheeks for highlighting, giving the entire face a built-in dreamy filter.

This outfit is an off-the-shoulder design, with its greatest highlight being the blue-and-white gradient fluffy skirt. The upper body uses white ruffled puff sleeves to add a sense of lightness, with huge dark blue bows and streamers at the chest and waist serving as the visual centerpiece, while the neck is adorned with a dark blue choker embedded with an aqua blue gem, perfectly echoing the theme of the costume. These seemingly intricate accessories were actually quite challenging to manage when worn, but it is precisely these details that brought the overall anime recreation to a very high level.

The legs were paired with slim white over-the-knee stockings, adorned with delicate small black-and-white bows at the cuffs, which, along with the white chunky Mary Janes, perfectly balanced the lower body's visual weight against the fluffy skirt, looking highly coordinated. For the props, I held a translucent jellyfish-shaped decoration in my left hand, which has built-in light beads and dangling long blue ribbons; I also had a complex long-handled western umbrella, with its edges similarly filled with blue-and-purple gradient sheer tassels. It felt a bit heavy in hand, but the flowy effect when walking was truly outstanding.

The environment on the day of the shoot was very interesting. We looked for angles along the garden walkways on the periphery of the Guangzhou Anime Convention. The gray flagstones were covered with fine pebbles, backed by lush, dark green foliage, giving the overall frame a very high color contrast. I tried various poses, including raising the jellyfish prop to look playful, and opening the umbrella to let the wind spread out the sheer curtains. Among the many photos, I am particularly satisfied with the one where I sat directly on the pebble path, with my legs slightly extended and the skirt naturally spreading across the grayish-white stones, perfectly capturing that relaxed and natural state of the convention's first day.

The atmosphere at the Guangzhou Anime Convention is always passionate with a massive crowd. Wearing such a detailed dress not only required overcoming inconvenience in movement, but I also had to constantly maintain a fully focused state. Fortunately, the fabric of the dress was chosen to be skin-friendly and breathable; after a day of walking and stopping outdoors, it didn't feel particularly stuffy or hot. Since I frequently had to face lenses from different angles during the shoot, I also constantly paid attention to maintaining the completeness of my makeup, securing the eye area and the center of my face with setting spray and loose powder.

Through this photo session, I found that this kind of outfit with a lot of sheer veils and ribbons tests one's posture control even more during actual performance. You cannot strike poses stiffly; instead, you must cooperate with the momentum of the props to naturally spin or stand. In several multi-angle snapshots, the photographer beautifully utilized the wind in the environment, making the sheer skirt hem and the bunny ears excellent dynamic accents in the photos. I hope this styling presentation brings a bit of a fresh visual experience to everyone who likes this design, and serves as a precious keepsake for myself on Day 1 of CP.
