[Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay] Genshin Impact: Ethereal and Agile Photos of a Hydro element style Sprite - Image 1

This set of Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay costume and styling is finally here, marking one of my most detail-oriented shoots recently. The overall photography concept revolved around themes of the Hydro element style and marine creatures. For makeup, I opted for a gradient of blue and pink eyeshadow, deepening the blue smudging at the outer eye corners to lend my gaze a softer, more profound depth. The wig features a pink-to-white gradient with blue tips; styling it took far longer than anticipated, requiring precise shaping along the head's contour to lock in those wave-like textures.

A great deal of care went into selecting garment textiles: the outer layer is a gradient blue-and-white airy chiffon, which flows weightlessly and creates a rippling water effect when in motion. The inner base features an off-the-shoulder cut accented by a prominent blue bow across the chest with ruffled trim. White gloves on my hands added an extra touch of elegance, complemented by a choker centered with a star ornament. On my legs were white thigh-highs featuring water-ripple cutout patterns that elongated leg contours cleanly, pairing with blue high heels for an exceptionally tall, slender silhouette in this White tights cosplay aesthetic.

The set utilized reflectors spread across the floor to simulate surface water reflections, framed by white faux flowers, seashell props, blue crystal pillars, and expansive semi-sheer white drapery in the background. Throughout the shoot, to maintain that airy, weightless float, I constantly adjusted my stance and the draping of the skirt. The photographer guided me on utilizing light refractions to make the sheer fabrics look more translucent. On-set shooting relied primarily on natural light paired with cool-toned fill lights to maximize the refreshing chill of the ocean. In post-processing, we focused on faithful color reproduction, softening the background ripples and bokeh while preserving a radiant, porcelain-white skin texture.

The trickiest part of this shoot was keeping the skirt fluttering gracefully while maintaining steady footing on the slick reflective floor; wearing high heels often required assistants to help arrange the gown. The wig's styling easily got ruffled by airflow, requiring repeated combing to freeze that perfect instant. The true challenge with such a 2D character lies in keeping movements fluid rather than stiff, balancing gentle tenderness with an enigmatic grace—relying heavily on one's personal interpretation. Wearing this attire truly channeled the sensation of swimming freely through the deep sea. Every shoot leaves me with valuable insights, helping me better master dreamy, ethereal aesthetics in future cosplay projects. I'm very satisfied with this set, especially the evocative atmosphere combining luminous light with aquatic translucency.
