Upon arriving at the convention venue, what is most exciting—besides interacting with various cosplayers—is sneaking out during setup and shooting breaks to grab a drink. This time, I was truly obsessed with HEYTEA, and even the straw in hand became the perfect prop. These two Convention photos document our state of retreating to the rest area to recharge right after wrapping up a shooting set.
Let's start with Shenhe cosplay's outfit. Great effort was put into the garment's tailoring, especially around the shoulders, neckline, waist, and abdomen. The upper body features an off-the-shoulder design with subtle white jacquard patterns, gold trim outlines, and red accents at the collar, creating a visually striking look. The black high-waisted pants on the lower half fit snugly against the skin, featuring extensive cutout splicing and semi-sheer mesh around the waist with symmetrical tailored lines. Combined with the fabric's natural texture, it delivers wonderful depth and quality under the high-power fill lights of the booth. Paired with black fingerless leather gloves, the overall look feels sharp and agile, while remaining reasonably breathable without feeling stifling in the hall.
The wig styling was also crucial—the white hair, cut with delicate layers, balances the character's cool aloofness without feeling bulky. The headpiece details were crafted meticulously, with metallic accents and red details on the side elevating the overall aura. For makeup, I intentionally blended warm orange-red eyeshadow around the outer corners and lower eyelids, preserving the character's charm while adding a touch of softness, which defined facial contours beautifully under the venue's intense lighting.
Also accompanying me was Kamisato Ayato cosplay. His light-blue short hair paired with a light inner garment and royal-blue coat, complemented by golden braided tassels on the chest and black gloves, formed a harmonious color scheme that looked dignified and noble. In particular, when he sat on the leather sofa sipping his drink from the collaboration-designed cup, that relaxed and slightly languid convention mood felt genuinely endearing—even more so than formal, rigid posing.
Shooting these "drink break Convention photos" is actually more challenging than posing for action-packed combat scenes, because you need to naturally blend the authentic feeling of being thirsty and grabbing a drink into the character. Fortunately, our photographer used a side softbox for illumination, making the contrast between black and white in Photo 1 exceptionally clear. The soft lighting in Photo 2 utilized ambient restaurant diffusion, capturing Ayato's demeanor spot-on.
Many fellow fans ask if cosplayers get exhausted or hungry after spending the entire day at the venue. Honestly, the physical demand is immense, but when you hear people call out your character's name or brainstorm a great composition with the photographer, that sense of fulfillment instantly washes away the fatigue. Taking advantage of the refreshing bubbles from this cup of HEYTEA to enjoy a moment of tranquility and coolness, I can jump right back into my best state to face cameras and fellow fans once again.
The experience of taking Convention photos at this convention was truly delightful. Although people constantly passed through the rest area, everyone respectfully gave each other space, each finding their own spark of creative light. After finishing our drinks, it was time to get back into action! I hope these photos bring some visual enjoyment to friends who love our Genshin Impact cosplay style.
