This Sesshouin Kiara costume is truly the hardest outfit to wear I have ever encountered since joining the cosplay circle, bar none. When I first got the costume and looked at the pile of complex straps, gradient fabric, and various miscellaneous accessories, I had a hunch that today would be a grueling battle. Sure enough, once I actually put it on, I was basically in a semi-paralyzed state; any slightly larger movement would get stuck by various materials and structures, and throughout the entire shoot, I could only squirm on the ground to get the shots done. On top of that, with the massive horns and ears on my head, the top-heavy feeling was prominent; turning my head meant moving my entire upper body along with it, and my neck was so sore afterward that I couldn't lift it at all.

To keep on schedule this time, two outfits were shot back-to-back in one uninterrupted stretch, multiplying the physical exhaustion. I'm rushing to post the quick preview of the first set. Although the entire shoot was pure physical torment, psychologically it felt incredibly exhilarating. I truly have to bow down to photographer 13—from lighting and composition to directing a model like me who could barely move, every tricky angle was handled with utmost precision.

To recreate that unique temperament of Sesshouin Kiara, a lot of effort was poured into the makeup this time. Large areas of red and pink eyeshadow were blended dramatically, paired with bright yellow contact lenses and the purple mark on the forehead; when the lens zoomed in, that eerie sense of oppression instantly emerged. The costume's gradient skirt hem looked exceptionally layered against the backdrop of water ripples and sequins. Although physical movement was restricted, as long as good angles were found and combined with reflections from the prop mirrors, the texture of the finished photos turned out remarkably solid.

The shooting location was chosen in this blue-toned setting resembling a deep sea or fantasy cave, surrounded by reflective sequins and transparent beads, seamlessly matching the character's setting of decadence and transcendence. The lights shining on these rhinestones, combined with the on-site cool tones, instantly brought out that underwater sparkling atmosphere reminiscent of Deep-sea photography. Constrained by the clothing, many grand poses were completely out of reach, so emotions could only be conveyed through subtle body language and eye contact, which was a huge challenge for me. Often, a lot of time had to be spent waiting for the right light and shadow or adjusting into a pose that wasn't as agonizing for myself.

Shooting a character with such heavy styling tests patience and stamina above all else. Whether it's the preliminary putting on, taking off, and adjusting, or maintaining poses during the shoot, one has to grit their teeth and persevere. Even though I was exhausted to the point of collapse today with an aching waist and back, seeing those raw photos on the monitor made all the hardships feel worth it. That's the essence of COSPLAY: every challenge of a high-difficulty character is a breakthrough of one's own limits. The tailoring of this costume is very form-fitting; if the internal straps aren't tied properly, it not only risks exposure but also compromises the overall aesthetic lines, so putting it on always required several people's help. After wearing it, even sitting down became a luxury, and I could only collapse in a relatively safe posture. During today's shoot, I tried changing poses several times, only to end up rolling from lying on my left side to lying on my right side—literally 'squirming.' This also made me deeply realize that portraying complex characters is not just a battle of looks and costumes, but also one of physical stamina. Fortunately, the final presented effect was very ideal; the multi-layered blue and pink gradients presented a hallucinatory coloration under the lens, which, paired with the underwater-textured set, completely achieved the visual effect I envisioned. Thanks to all the friends who helped out today, everyone worked so hard! These are some rambling thoughts about this Sesshouin Kiara shoot, documenting this painful yet joyous shooting experience.
