[Saber Alter cosplay] ChinaJoy Convention Photos of Fate/Grand Order Saber Alter's Final Ascension Defeat Sequence

The official ChinaJoy convention photos are finally organized! This shoot depicts the concept of Fate/Grand Order Saber Alter's Final Ascension defeat sequence. The main reason for choosing this theme was to leverage the venue's wasteland industrial style along with cracked ground to enhance that poignantly beautiful atmosphere of energy fading after defeat.

The day of the shoot happened to be during the ChinaJoy event, and finding an open, abandoned factory outside the venue was truly no easy feat; the photographer and I shuttled through several spots carrying props. This Saber Alter dress and halter-neck design are quite demanding on posture, requiring me to constantly adjust my breathing and core throughout the entire day to keep my back line upright. The red lighting effects in the photos were created in post-production combined with on-site lighting. In particular, with the greatsword and the red ropes wrapped around it, I had to be careful not to reveal prop flaws on set while matching my gaze to convey a violent yet slightly mournful feel.

I especially love a few shots where I'm lying down or tilting my body, simulating a state of exhaustion after defeat. The magma special effects in the ground cracks paired with the texture of the black tights outfit, alongside the contrast between fair cold-toned skin and red light, instantly injected visual tension into the frame. Doing poses on the floor while wearing over-the-knee boots was quite rough on the ground despite protective measures, but the final outcome proved everything was worth it. When processing smoke and energy light trails in post-production, we deliberately retained the metallic ceiling structure of the industrial factory so that cold feeling wouldn't look monotonous.

Although the whole process was exhausting, being able to reproduce Saber Alter's unique charm through my own interpretation gave me a real sense of achievement. This was also my first time attempting a darker aesthetic style, where I specifically deepened the eyeshadow and lip color in my makeup, while amber-yellow contact lenses made my overall aura fit the character better. I hope everyone can feel that battle-damaged style ambiance—defeated yet subtly holding strength—from this photo set.
