Braving scorching temperatures of over 30°C, I stepped into Universal Studios Beijing in full hair, makeup, and costume. My goal this time was crystal clear: attending the offline 14th Anniversary Birthday Concert for Virtual Singer Luo Tianyi (Luo Tianyi cosplay). To present my absolute best state, I woke up around 5:00 AM to start getting ready. The accessories for this cosplay outfit are quite intricate, especially the blue gemstones and golden trim across the chest, requiring careful layering and fastening. For the wig, I did thorough homework beforehand, sculpting the curvature of the crown with styling wax and attaching musical-note hair ornaments before it finally met the standard in my heart.

The afternoon outdoor shoot was a tremendous test of physical stamina. Under direct sunlight, not only was it difficult to keep my eyes open, but the temperature inside the costume rose rapidly. Photo 1 was snapped right in front of the main backdrop wall. To prevent passersby from appearing around the frame's edges, I adjusted my standing position several times, keeping hand gestures slightly outstretched to showcase the costume's tailored lines and layered skirt hem. Photo 3 was taken in the indoor dining area, right as I received the limited-edition themed dessert and specialty beverage. The table was lined with themed placemats, and the daylight streaming through the window provided great fill light for my face, turning out even better than anticipated.

The interactive zones inside the venue were also loads of fun. Photo 2 was taken with another friend who came to check in—she wore a giant cupcake headpiece, and I reached out in an interactive gesture. Wearing white gloves, I had to move very gingerly, terrified of snagging the delicate lace. The character standee in Photo 4 was massive; standing beside it for comparison really highlighted the care poured into this crossover. Holding the gray plushie and blue lightstick shown in Photo 5, I waited in front of the stage for nightfall. The acrylic clear card in Photo 6 was designed ingeniously; its dimensional texture refracted different colors under the illumination, so I deliberately found a spot with minimal glare to capture it.

When darkness fully fell and the stage lights lit up in Photo 7, the entire area instantly transformed into a vibrant ocean of the 2D world. The massive musical note installations and surround sound, paired with energetic visuals across the screens, made it impossible not to wave lightsticks to the beat. The giant outdoor murals (Photos 8 and 9) were also essential photo spots. During the day, the murals looked bright and fresh; at night, bathed in purple and blue illumination, they gained an added touch of mystery.

Participating in this offline birthday concert, my deepest realization was that true passion can genuinely transcend spatial boundaries. Many fellow fans traveled from all across the country; gathering together, even strangers quickly bonded over shared enthusiasm. Although a full day of shooting and walking left my legs swollen and my wig soaked with sweat, seeing my camera brimming with footage and soaking in the heartfelt, fiery ambiance made every bit of effort worth it. That is precisely the magic of offline events—it transforms virtual companionship into a tangible, real encounter for this Virtual Singer and cosplay celebration.
