A lot of thought went into the costume details and overall coordination to faithfully bring Seia's swimsuit look to life. Underneath is a pure white one-piece swimsuit layered with an oversized, bright yellow long-sleeved hooded jacket. During the shoot, I deliberately slipped the jacket halfway down past my shoulders—this subtly accentuated the neckline and collarbones while perfectly matching the lazy, effortless vibe of a summer beach. The wide red choker around my neck was the visual exclamation point of the whole outfit; it added rich chromatic depth while beautifully balancing neck proportions.
Styling the wig and head accessories was the absolute core of prep work. I chose a bright blonde long twintail wig, delicately thinning and softly curling the ends so they fell with a natural, airy bounce. The fluffy animal ears on top paired with the yellow sun visor are unmistakable character hallmarks. To keep them rock-solid and slip-free throughout the shoot, I anchored them with plenty of concealed bobby pins while continually tweaking their angles to ensure they didn't cast shadows or block my eyes. The beige platform sandals also blended seamlessly with the yellow-and-white color palette.
As for props, the giant translucent yellow swim ring filled with colorful confetti sequins, a yellow duck-shaped water gun, and duckling figurines all significantly enriched the storytelling within the frame. Against the pure white studio backdrop, these vibrant yellow props kept the overall color palette bright and cheerful. To showcase diverse visual rhythms, I explored three distinct poses: first, curled up comfortably on a wooden folding lounge chair holding the water gun in total relaxation; second, kneeling beside the swim ring with both hands resting lightly on it and looking up with a hint of playfulness; and third, standing dynamically while holding the swim ring with one hand and kicking up a foot to accentuate leg lines and overall body proportions.
Controlling my expressions and eye gaze was by far the biggest challenge on set. To capture her delicate aura, the makeup emphasized eye definition, enlarging the eyes and complementing them with colored contact lenses. Different poses demanded different emotional nuances—gentle and serene when seated, yet bubbly and energetic when standing. The studio strobes provided exceptionally even, diffused lighting, leaving generous room in post-production, where the primary focus was refining skin translucency for a clean, luminous summer aesthetic. The entire shoot was a continuous exercise in polishing small details, and I hope it delivers that crisp, refreshing coolness of summer right to you.
