I chose the track/gymnastics uniform variant of Misono Mika for this shoot, drawn primarily to its blend of casual slice-of-life realism and athletic flair. Blue Archive naturally carries an unmistakable aura of youthful school days, and compared to elaborate combat armor, a gymnastics uniform integrates far more organically with natural classroom light.

The pink hue of the wig required meticulous temperature balance between warm and cool tones, as classroom lighting usually leans cooler. The twin buns atop had to be tied with precise symmetry while retaining an airy, natural volume. The blue floral hair accessory pinned to the side was the crowning touch; it took several bobby pins to lock down that ideal angle. For makeup, I downplayed the lips to center visual weight on soft pink blending around the eyes, which, combined with luminous gold contact lenses, faithfully channeled that trademark mix of innocent sweetness and subtle, detached introspection.

To build genuine classroom authenticity, the props team covered the blackboard with handwritten math equations, including formulas with variables like rs and r. We also chalked two line-art hearts and magnet-pinned a tightly printed newspaper to the board—details that enriched the narrative framing. The volleyball in my hands became an ideal storytelling prop: clutching it seated atop the school desk or balancing it on one palm demanded sustained core engagement. The casual finger-gesture pose, in particular, required fine wrist and arm coordination; though looking effortless, it took over a dozen takes to maintain a relaxed yet energized presence across the desk surface.

Posing with the giant yellow protractor became an unexpected visual highlight. Typically an ordinary classroom teaching tool, it sparked a wonderfully quirky dynamic against this athletic uniform. To prevent the composition from looking static, I leaned slightly forward and cast my gaze sideways, letting the oversized ruler frame part of the foreground. Our trickiest technical hurdle was keeping the gymnastics uniform fabric smooth, as minor bunching immediately disrupted silhouette lines. The blue-and-white color-blocking accented with yellow piping flattered the body's lines, but moving between tight rows of desks required constant care to avoid knocking over vintage furniture.

Lighting played an equally pivotal role. To sculpt dimensional separation, we set a subtle side-rim light to illuminate the edges of the pink wig, lending rich volume to the hair strands. A softbox lit the front to keep facial shadows gentle and flattering. During breaks, I coordinated with the photographer to preserve the authentic greens of the chalkboard and warm wooden tones of the desks, leaning into a nostalgic schoolhouse aesthetic. The entire shoot felt like an improvised play within an empty homeroom—ranging from playful to quiet, interacting with geometrical props. Wrapping up left me physically drained, but seeing the captured frames proved that our storyboard sketches and set staging were worth every moment.
