The primary keynote of this shoot centered around the Red string, which serves as the most recognizable visual focal point of this Shenhe cosplay look. The long Silver hair wig on my head was braided into a thick plait at the back, paired with intensely cool light blue eyeshadow and red lip tint, perfectly reflecting the temperament of Shenhe in Genshin Impact. Regarding the costume, the black-and-white upper piece edged with white fur trim looks airy and light, but the actual fur contains numerous layers and feels quite heavy when worn. The lower half features a black miniskirt with gold embroidery, matched with sheer and semi-translucent blue streamers, red floral embroidery, a black Leg garter, and high heels adorned with red tassels.
On the day of the shoot, to align with the photographer's concept of being 'calm as still water,' we adjusted poses numerous times. Particularly for the high leg-lift pose in Photo 3, it required not only finding a solid center of gravity to maintain balance, but also managing facial expressions to project a crisp, detached aloofness, while extending the leg line cleanly to showcase details of the Leg garter and heels. I am most satisfied with the composition of this shot, as the posture is relatively graceful and stretched, and the leg lines look beautiful. When shooting Photo 4, we coordinated with props for falling blue talisman cards that will be added in post-production; to create a sense of fluttering motion, I held the pose in front for quite a while. The movement of long ribbons and sheer tulle during dynamic motion is very difficult to control—frequently getting stepped on or fluttering across the face—requiring repeated adjustments of angles and positions.
Although the shooting process was demanding, the texture of the Red string and the fidelity of the styling achieved the desired effect. In hair and makeup styling, the Red string is distributed across the neck, wrists, and legs; these restraining details are visually captivating by design, and paired with the translucent ribbons on the outfit, the resulting photos are rich in atmosphere. Recalling the initial test shots, to recreate the character's aloof and mysterious presence, I specifically adjusted the blush color and eyeliner technique. During the shoot, the photographer's control over lighting was exceptionally professional; the black backdrop made the Silver hair and white fur trim pop even more, bringing out texture and dimensional depth. The overall glamorous, cool allure showcased in these photos is something I truly love, and every tiny embellishment was handled with meticulous care during the shoot.
