[New Jersey cosplay] Azur Lane: Refreshing Bunny Girl Maid Outfit in the Garden

Today I organized old folders on my computer and decided to pull out this set shot in a garden to update my feed. The photos feature this blue-haired character from Azur Lane wearing a black-and-white Bunny girl maid outfit in a Garden exterior setting.

Shooting this set was actually a bit of a challenge, as there were quite a few props and costume accessories. First was these glossy black bunny ears, whose shape needed to be deliberately bent—they couldn't be too stiff and rigid, nor too limp losing their shape. Fortunately, the angle was adjusted just right during this shoot.

The white ruffles around the collar paired with a small black bow tie make an interesting combination, adding a lot of sweetness to the overall styling. I held this silver tray in my hand the whole time; while it's a very simple prop, keeping my wrist from getting tired while maintaining a light, graceful posture definitely required subconscious muscle control. However, I really love the final result—together with the bright light filtering through the white trellis, I look very relaxed and at ease.

In terms of makeup, focus was placed on the cleanliness of eye makeup and base foundation. The blue wig paired with matching light blue contact lenses made the gaze feel particularly clear and translucent. To complement the character's disposition, a gentle pink eyeshadow was used to make her eyes look softer. The lipstick selected was a natural rose-dust shade, subtle yet uplifting.

Re-editing old photos and posting them sometimes feels better than releasing them right after shooting. Looking back after a while, your aesthetic perspective might undergo subtle changes, making it clearer which compositions are true highlights and which choices of light and shadow enhance the image's texture.

The cut of this outfit demands quite a lot from the neck and shoulder lines. The short top combined with a sleeveless design and white lace encircling the cuffs naturally accentuates upper body proportions. During the shoot, I paid special attention to relaxing my back and shoulders because hunching even slightly makes one look tense and restrained, failing to convey the character's confident yet warm demeanor in this New Jersey cosplay.

The trellis and dangling iron chains in the background added structural variety to the white pavilion, preventing the backdrop from looking sparse. Simulated pink and white roses at the corner of the wall enriched the scene's colors under the light, forming a visual echo and contrast with the blue, white, and black color palette of the costume itself.

The biggest worry with outdoor shoots is bad weather, as overly harsh light creates heavy shadows that easily ruin the clean, garden vibe. Fortunately, the weather cooperated that day with beautifully even, diffused light. The soft lighting environment required minimal post-fill light to achieve a wonderful translucent feel.

Many details in these old photos withstand close inspection, such as the texture of the black gloves and the tailored tailoring where the detachable sleeves connect to the top. Although this is a Casual cosplay share, I've always believed that taking every styling and setup seriously is what makes the person in the photo look like they truly live in that world. Under this Azur Lane theme featuring New Jersey, I hope this corner of the garden brings everyone a refreshing visual experience.
