[Yin Ziping cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Lanting Yue: Bamboo Forest On-Location Shoot Record

Preparing for this on-location shoot of Yin Ziping's Lanting Yue skin from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT required extensive planning. The blue-and-white palette looks crisp and refreshing, yet placed against an expansive deep green bamboo grove, the character could easily be swallowed by the environment. We specifically chose a sun-drenched afternoon, taking advantage of natural shafts of sunlight filtering through the bamboo canopy to rim-light the silhouette. For the wig, sleek long straight black hair was crowned with silver ornaments; thinning the layers and adding lift at the crown allowed strands to flutter effortlessly whenever the wind stirred.

The costume's ink-wash gradient patterns along the bodice and waist demanded an upright, poised posture on camera. Sitting atop a large mossy boulder, I experimented repeatedly with crossed leg angles: pairing tailored shorts with lace-up high heels meant striking a delicate balance between elongating leg lines and maintaining an effortless martial arts poise. The folding paper fan served as an exceptional prop, offering a natural anchor for hand placement whether shading the eyes from dappled sunlight or resting along the lap.

Deep, contouring eyeliner and eye shadow accentuated a focused, aloof expression fitting a classical Chinese-style cosplay heroine. The shoot demanded immense patience—navigating uneven rocks in heels while swatting mosquitoes and constantly checking for makeup shine from heat. Alternating between sweeping wide establishing shots and close-up portraits, cool tonal grading preserved the grove's tranquil, translucent atmosphere. Floating silk gauzes and ink details brought Yin Ziping's timeless Wuxia grace vividly to life.
