[Sally cosplay] Azur Lane's Blue Bunny: A Playful Maid Outfit Debut

For this shoot, we selected this blue-and-black Maid outfit as the primary visual focus, styling it with a playfully gothic vibe. The costume is from KIRAKIRA's "Oath's Wardrobe" series, tailored closely to the body. In particular, the pink corsage on the chest, the layered lace of the skirt, and the long black bunny ears atop the head deliver a strong visual impact against a pure white background. For makeup, I specifically opted for pink eyeshadow paired with reddish-pink colored contacts; combined with blue twin tails featuring purple streaks, it faithfully captures the character's lively, slightly mischievous charm.

The shooting process required tremendous body control. Especially after putting on Black stockings and chunky-heeled black Mary Jane high heels with buckles, holding single-leg lifts or rotating stances was physically exhausting. For example, in the shot where one leg is raised, photographer Fiyu was constantly adjusting angles on the side while I desperately balanced on tiptoes to steady my center of gravity. Thanks to Fiyu's direction, advising me to extend the leg straight to emphasize the thigh ring detail, the resulting leg line looks remarkably long and sleek. Post-processing was handled by Maomao Chahu, who thoroughly cleaned up the background into a clean, minimalist white studio look, making the Black stockings, black skirt folds, and skin contrast stand out vividly. We invested a lot of thought into composition and camera angles, aiming primarily to highlight outfit craftsmanship and silhouette contours.

There are several other poses in the series—such as sitting on a white platform with legs crossed, or kneeling on a white shag rug with hands cupping my cheeks. These movements were chosen to emphasize the layering and puffiness of the Maid outfit. Squatting and kneeling in high heels is quite uncomfortable, but to prevent the skirt from collapsing and to keep leg lines elongated, I powered through. The session was interspersed with constant communication and adjustments, like smoothing the collar choker or repositioning the twin tails to ensure each frame captured a candid, natural moment. Overall, it was a thoroughly fulfilling shoot; beyond indulging my passion for cosplay, collaborating with the photographer taught me invaluable posing skills, and each frame captured that effortless balance of languor and playfulness I aimed for. Time flew by amid takes, and I can't wait to try another outfit next time!
