[Sakuya Izayoi cosplay] The Perfect Maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, It's Tea Time - Image 1

The tea party at the Scarlet Devil Mansion is fully set up: silver tea sets, a multi-tiered pastry stand, vintage candlesticks, and that iconic deep red velvet curtain in the background—the scene setup at the photography studio this time really maxed out the mansion's atmosphere.

As the Chief Maid, time and details are my guidelines. To recreate Sakuya's elegant and composed server temperament, I put extra effort into my movements: balancing the tray with one hand, gently tidying the collar with the other, and letting my gaze convey composure without seeming too detached. The white wig took a long time to style to achieve that fluffy yet sharp layering. Paired with the dress interwoven with deep blue and white, as well as the iconic ruffled apron, I instantly got into character once everything was on.

The on-site lighting was very sophisticated. The photographer used rim-lighting to outline the draped texture of the fabric while making the texture of the red velvet curtain clearly visible. The plate of scones and fruit tarts I was holding was handmade by the prop master and looked highly realistic. Combined with the neatly arranged European tableware on the table, it gave the entire frame a fairytale feel without losing a realistic slice-of-life vibe.

Actually, the most interesting part of the shoot was adjusting the position of every single item. The reflection of the silver teapot, the translucency of the glass cups, and even the angle of the forks all had to match the aesthetic of the "Chief Maid." This photo freezes the moment of preparing to serve tea and water; without exaggerated magical special effects, it uses a quiet atmosphere to tell the story of the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

While shooting this work, I kept thinking that during the intervals of time stop, Sakuya might look over the dining table quietly just like this, ensuring every single guest receives the most thorough care. This immersive sense of character building is exactly where the charm of cosplay lies. I am very glad to leave behind memories belonging to the Scarlet Devil Mansion in this photography studio, and I hope the classical charm and tranquility in these photos can be passed on to everyone.
