[Cirno cosplay] Touhou Project: Remembering the Misty Lake Brothers on September 9th

To bring this Cirno cosplay from Touhou Project to life, I poured a lot of effort into the hair and makeup styling. First was the hair: I selected a light blue wig, carefully trimming the bangs and feathering the tips to give it that authentic Anime cosplay short-hair texture. For makeup, I wore vibrant blue colored contacts and swept soft pink blush across the under-eyes and cheeks to emphasize a youthful, endearing charm. Elongating the eyeliner slightly and applying lush false eyelashes made the eyes appear rounder and full of spirit, while natural nude-pink lips kept the overall base look fresh and luminous.

The sartorial details of these Ice-themed outfits are also well worth noting: the deep blue dress is accented with abundant white lace ruffles along with reindeer and snowflake embroidery motifs, beautifully complemented by the decorative red knot across the chest. The headpiece was particularly unique—a winged design featuring mesh webbing and delicate lace trims that truly served as the soul of the look. For accessories, multi-layered lace puff sleeves and wrist cuffs added volume, while the skirt hem integrated sheer diamond and triangular fabric panels to build rich dimension.

We conducted the shoot indoors against a clean, light beige backdrop to make the vibrant blue silhouette pop cleanly. Shooting from a subtle high angle with a slight tilt, I tilted my head toward the lens to make my gaze feel lively and engaging. Post-production retouching focused on smoothing the skin while preserving translucent skin texture, alongside enhancing catchlights to make the eyes sparkle.

Referencing the playful homage to 'Remembering the Misty Lake Brothers on September 9th,' we intentionally captured frames channeling that mischievous, goofy innocence. I have great affection for this set—the fabric quality and warmth of the gown were wonderful, and despite the demanding studio lighting adjustments, seeing the finalized costume and styling made every hardship worthwhile. Cirno in Touhou Project is defined as an ice fairy fond of pranks; to capture her quirky gap moe, I kept my movements light on my feet, coordinating closely with the photographer to elongate the skirt's proportions. Through this look and makeup, I hope to present a vivid, multi-dimensional character. The shoot day was full of laughter—I nearly lost my balance after holding so many poses, but seeing the final results made it all worthwhile.
