[Kochiya Sanae Cosplay] Touhou Project: Yozakura Waterside Photoshoot Share

Having finished sorting through this set of Yozakura night photos, I'm sharing them to exchange thoughts with everyone. The shoot took place primarily along a Tokyo canal. Since cherry blossoms have strong light translucency at night and the surroundings are very dark, we focused heavily on side-backlighting to outline hair and costume contours. The blue-and-white skirt offers high contrast against the dark background, working with colorful streamers and the golden ritual wand to create great visual leading lines in motion. To ensure a clean composition, we deliberately used a telephoto lens with a wide aperture to compress water reflections, letting distant steps and drooping cherry blossoms form a natural framing backdrop. Stepping onto the stepping stones required great caution, as water reflections could affect both focus and balance. In pre-production, the ruffled hem and white ankle socks produced rich layering under strong directional light, while the cool color temperature elevated the overall texture of the night scene. Posing rhythm was key—such as looking back over the shoulder and using the natural wind to flutter the skirt and streamers, which feels far more organic than stiff poses. Post-processing mainly controlled highlight bloom and deepened water reflections, enhancing the primary blue and white color palette.
