The purple sequined fabric of this dress is exceptionally sensitive to lighting—especially under the harsh overhead downlights of a fitting room, where reflective glare easily washes out body contours. During the fitting session, I deliberately experimented from several distinct angles to figure out how best to capture that sleek metallic sheen. The dress features a bodycon cut that hugs the figure snugly, accentuating feminine curves visually. However, due to the high side slit, guarding against wardrobe malfunctions while standing is essential; crossing the legs not only visually elongates body proportions, but also lets the line of the high slit drape with far greater elegance.
The craftsmanship of the outer robe deserves special mention: a black base cloth framed by heavy gold bullion embroidery that feels wonderfully substantial. The sleeves feature an oversized flowing bell design with luxurious drape during movement, though they require constant smoothing while posing to prevent the fabric from bunching up into bulky folds. The headpiece has a rather dramatic silhouette that shifts the head's center of gravity; keeping it firmly secured required quite a few bobby pins, which started pinching the scalp a bit after a while.
To harmonize with the overall palette, I selected an ash-toned base wig infused with teal and blue highlights, creating a subtle, complementary contrast against the purple dress. Because this was a fan-design fitting test, while preserving the character's core identity, I intensified the eyeshadow blending to lean deeper into a dark Gothic Halloween mood. Even though these were just mirror selfies, the clutter of bottles and flower bouquets in the background competed a bit for attention; switching to a solid studio backdrop or introducing red and blue ambient gel lights will undoubtedly elevate the garment's texture further. This fitting was primarily about testing the compatibility across all accessories and components, and the overall coordination met my expectations. For the official outdoor photoshoot, I'll dive deeper into lighting design and dynamic action snapshots.
