[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Fan-art Bride cosplay Makeup test Record

In the midst of birthday preparations for Elysia, this bridal design is recreated based on an illustrator's original fan-art concept. Having done a Makeup test earlier, I am now organizing the photos to document and share the process.

This Makeup test mainly aimed to recreate the light, airy, yet gorgeous texture depicted by the artist. When styling the long straight pink wig, special attention was paid to the layers of the bangs and sideburns; to match the smooth suppleness in the illustration, I made subtle tweaks to the hair ends. I wore purple contact lenses paired with elf ear props. For makeup, I adjusted the proportions of eyeliner and under-eye highlight to soften the gaze, while rendering the lower lashes to capture the character's dreamy 2D aesthetic. The blush was applied lightly, and the lip color chosen was a soft pink tint to keep the overall bridal palette clean and harmonious.

The costume was the centerpiece; the off-the-shoulder white lace gown truly tested tailoring and silhouette sculpting. The neckline featured purple flowers combined with golden roses and chains, which took considerable time to fasten properly. The design of white lace half-sleeves and long sleeve-warmers, combined with an open back and flattering side curves, meant I had to be mindful of movement ranges during shooting—preventing wardrobe malfunctions while highlighting the intricate accessories. The overall styling accentuates body proportions nicely. During post-processing, adjustments mainly addressed the indoor lighting: since indoor light easily casts yellow tones on skin, color temperature was corrected to maintain a translucent, fair complexion while bringing out the fabric textures.

During the shoot, I explored several angles. For instance, looking back over the shoulder in profile beautifully showcased the neck-shoulder lines and the dress's side profile, while frontal shots emphasized the contrast between pink hair, purple eyes, and white lace. Since this was shot purely indoors with home furniture in the background, softening and edge-blurring filters with added subtle lighting effects were used to make the frame gentler. Adjusting eye makeup and camera angles to recreate the illustrator's perspective during this Makeup test was quite tedious—balancing the original illustration's vibe with real-world execution took repeated attempts.

Because this is a fan-concept Bride cosplay, I stayed as true to the original art's costume and makeup design as possible, hoping to convey the enchanting romance of this bridal styling as a personal tribute for her birthday month. In retouching, dramatic filters were avoided to preserve raw photo details and prevent the image from looking flat. The long pink wig harmonized seamlessly with the white lace during shooting, filling the open shoulder area and flattering the neckline. Although I didn't wear stockings, the dress hemline elongated overall visual proportions, and the cinched waist combined with the look-back angle accentuated body curves. Wrapping up this entire Makeup test, I'm genuinely satisfied with how well this costume came together.
