For this The Shorekeeper cosplay styling, we embraced an absolute blue-and-white color harmony to capture the character's signature cool serenity and divine aura. We used a seamless pure white backdrop, keeping the lighting soft and uniform to maximize the purity of the costume fabrics and vibrant hues.
Costume-wise, the dress layers generous amounts of sheer tulle and ruffled cascades. The dark blue-and-black star emblem at the chest serves as the focal centerpiece; the embedded central jewel reflects light beautifully, so I deliberately directed key highlights onto that spot. The skirt features numerous tiers that required constant fluffing when moving or sitting down to ensure the folds fell in natural drapes. The sheer white veil on my head was another focal point: embellished with delicate white blossoms and pearl accents, balanced carefully to feel neither overcrowded nor bare. I reinforced the veil edges with subtle stiffening to preserve an airy, floating silhouette before the lens.
On makeup, to evoke an otherworldly, ethereal presence, the foundation was applied exceptionally fair and translucent. The focal point lay in the eye makeup: wearing vivid light-blue circle lenses, the outer corners and lower lashline were blended with bright blue and silver shimmer, paired with elongated eyeliner and defined individual cluster lashes to enhance facial delicacy. When shooting, the gaze shouldn't be overly sharp; casting the eyes slightly downward or maintaining a distant, unfocused stare evoked that poignant, detached aura.
As for props, the translucent blue butterfly was used to enrich compositional depth. Cradling it in Photos 1 and 2, or crossing both hands protectively over my chest in Photo 3, was all about striking that delicate, subtle balance. Going barefoot emphasized weightless freedom and unburdened lightness. Because the dress is quite short, I adjusted seated postures and leg extensions repeatedly to flatter leg contours while maintaining pristine aesthetic elegance. The custom light-blue wig was styled with blunt bangs and gently tapered ends, locked with ample hairspray to banish flyaways—especially since donning and removing the veil easily snagged the strands, demanding frequent combing and spraying between takes. We spent several hours fine-tuning lighting and camera angles with the photographer. I truly hope this heartfelt set brings out the unique, breathtaking allure of The Shorekeeper from Wuthering Waves.
