This photoshoot features Seele Vollerei cosplay from Honkai Impact 3rd, who is also one of my absolute favorite characters. In particular, the concept of Dark Seele leaves a very deep impression. Therefore, in styling design, I prepared two types of contact lenses—blue eyes and Red eyes—to switch between them. Wearing blue lenses feels closer to her original introverted, gentle personality; while switching to Red eyes instantly cools down the entire aura, perfectly matching the vibe of Dark Seele.

The wig this time is a deep blue short layered cut, and styling the ahoge on top took a bit of time. The accessories feature red geometric shapes, which, paired with the purple-and-white costume, create rich layering. The combination of silver metal and red gemstones at the neckline is a major highlight. The most difficult part was the red crest on the chest, painted with body paint. I redrew it several times at first, later realizing it needed to harmonize with the skin's reflection under lighting to achieve an authentic visual effect.

For makeup, I tried a heavier eye look to emphasize the sharpness in the gaze—elongating the eyeliner and adding suitable false eyelashes to make the eyes more expressive on camera. During shooting, I intentionally chose different background colors to accentuate the eye colors; for example, in front of a pink backdrop, the Red eyes appeared much more vivid. The shooting process was actually quite demanding, as constantly swapping contact lenses caused some eye irritation.

To faithfully capture Dark Seele's cold demeanor, I experimented extensively with facial expressions—minimizing smiles, tilting my chin up slightly, and projecting a touch of disdain in my gaze. The saying "indigo comes from blue, yet is darker than blue" fits Dark Seele perfectly. Though the foundation is blue, black-and-red represents her blazing intensity. This is not merely a color shift, but an epitome of the character's persona.

I feel this photo set effectively conveyed this dual nature through differing eye colors. Whether a soft blue gaze or deep Red eyes, both strive to capture the character's unique allure. During the shoot, I also considered how pointing toward the chest could guide visual focus directly to the character's iconic crest, imbuing the overall composition with narrative storytelling.

Significant care went into the styling for this set—from hair grooming to costume details—striving to get as close as possible to the original character design. Especially for that red crest, I had to be extremely cautious to prevent the makeup from smudging. The overall styling turned out very successful, not only reflecting the character's core traits, but also allowing me to experience distinct facets of the persona during the cosplay process.

As my favorite character, wearing this costume felt truly magical. The palette isn't overly bright, projecting a composed elegance that, paired with dark hair and Red eyes, carries an undeniable aura. This is precisely why I used two sets of eye colors for this shoot, as only then could the character's most intricate nuances be fully conveyed. Every blink and every eye contact delivered distinct impacts through varying hues. This cosplay shoot was an unforgettable experience—Red eyes concealing defiance and pride, while blue eyes held warmth and yearning. This stark contrast is genuinely mesmerizing.
