On August 1st, I cosplayed Jsspsi, brandishing the Adashir scroll and teasing people all over the hall—it was pure joy and energy. The shoot and convention day went smoothly overall, though the sweltering heat made makeup prone to melting; fortunately, heavy setting spray and diligent touch-ups kept it intact. The costume features complex construction with numerous black strap pieces. To maintain the crisp texture and silhouette, changing in and out was a real chore, and I avoided sitting down for long periods to prevent creasing the fabrics.
I ran into so many familiar faces, along with numerous Doctors and End-Administrators who came over specifically for selfies and stamp collection. Everyone was overwhelmingly warm, handing me heaps of gorgeous fan-made freebies—handwritten cards, acrylic charms, Instax prints, and cute stickers that almost overflowed my arms. Receiving so much goodwill made me feel truly surrounded by love.
However, because I was determined to complete the convention's etched medal set and race against the clock for checkpoint stamps, I had to sprint across the venue and stand in endless queues. In the rush, I ended up having to greet several Doctors and End-Administrators in a hurry and run off, perhaps even missing some sweet folks who had lined up to take pictures with me. Looking back, I feel terribly guilty for not giving everyone proper time. I sincerely apologize to anyone whose photo op I missed that day, and I truly hope to catch up and take proper photos with you next time!
Trolling everyone with the Adashir scroll was so much fun, though the prop was surprisingly heavy; lifting it made it instantly recognizable and drew plenty of knowing chuckles from the crowd. My arms grew so sore that I almost dropped it midway, but luckily a staff member nearby helped steady it. The pale green wig gave an ethereal elven touch alongside custom elf ears, drawing lots of second glances. Details like manicured nails were also prepped just to elevate photo close-ups. Sorting through all the Polaroids and goodies on my desk brings back the joy of that August 1st day—exhausting, but filled with fond Anime convention daily life memories from the Hypergryph Carnival.
