From conceptualization and shooting to post-processing, this personal Azur Lane Lexington photoshoot took a full two months to complete. Looking at the finished images now, every second was completely worth it. Today, I'd like to share some of the behind-the-scenes details of the shoot.
First, the outfit: to achieve that perfect balance of regal weight and airy elegance, we chose a fabric with a subtle lustrous sheen. The metallic accents at the bust and waist, along with the white floral details, were all attached by hand piece by piece. When moving, the sheer, translucent outer cape flutters gracefully, and paired with the high-slit gown design, it flatters body proportions effortlessly. To embody her temperament, I specifically opted for a pink hair cosplay style with long wavy curls, complemented by red contact lenses and a delicate black lace choker. Makeup focused on deep, defined eyes and soft pink lips to evoke an aura that feels mature yet subtly playful before the lens. The smoothness and luster of the wig also caught the studio lighting beautifully.
The shooting took place in a realistic studio featuring European court style domed ceilings and rose windows. A vintage white sofa surrounded by blue and purple florals created an ethereal, dreamy atmosphere. The ambient light on set was quite complex, with crystal chandeliers intertwining with natural daylight streaming through the windows. To balance facial illumination, the photographer used a softbox, preserving natural skin textures without creating harsh, unflattering shadows. The small yellow plushie in my arms was an unplanned prop; yet against the dominant blue and pink palette, that splash of bright yellow served as a striking visual anchor, offering a sweet, charming contrast to the sophisticated gown.
Throughout the session, managing the long flowing skirt required constant adjustments in both sitting and standing postures, ensuring the high slit naturally revealed the leg lines without looking staged. For example, when sitting on the sofa, curling one leg slightly while gently resting the other on the floor created a much more relaxed demeanor. In standing shots, I experimented with lifting the sheer tulle or slightly raising one leg to introduce dynamic motion. Crystal chandeliers, drapery, and intricate carvings added rich depth to the frame. To capture the most candid moments, we explored numerous angles—from full-body shots to intimate close-ups—aiming to convey diverse moods, whether lounging languidly against the cushions or casting an enigmatic gaze toward the camera.
The greatest joy of cosplaying is always turning imagined visions into reality alongside passionate friends. This set does not rely on heavy VFX; it hinges on thoughtful lighting and expressive presence. From the flawless base makeup to the glint on each hair strand, from the drape of the hemline to prop placement, everything was meticulously calibrated. While there is always room to grow, every endeavor deepens my understanding of the character. I hope everyone who sees this set feels the tranquility, grace, and dreamlike magic woven between blue and pink. It was an exhausting process, but seeing the final images makes it entirely worthwhile.
