The outfit for this Ephemeral Azure Thunder look has a lot of material details, especially the blue-purple neck ornament at the collar, the pearl necklace, as well as the lace at the stitching of the white dress and a large amount of fluffy ruffles at the cuffs. After putting it on, it requires repeated adjustments to maintain a natural draped silhouette, otherwise it can easily look bulky in the frame. During the shoot, we happened to catch the afternoon sunlight pouring into the room through the gaps of the white-framed window panes and the outdoor greenery. The ambient light was very soft, providing an excellent base atmosphere for this outfit centered on pure white and pale pink, while eliminating much of the shadow interference caused by harsh light.
To complement this soft diffuse reflection light, I intentionally controlled the range of highlighters in my makeup, mainly using a subtle pearlescent base combined with loose powder to press down on both sides of the nose. This way, even in a slightly backlit environment, the character's facial contours can be clearly seen without appearing too flat, beautifully restoring her characteristic gentle yet distant temperament. During the shoot, the photographer guided some interactive movements with the window frame, such as looking down to flip through the blue prop in hand, or gently resting on the open window. These poses perfectly showcase the drape of the skirt hem and the matte texture of the black gloves. Coupled with the texture variations generated when light penetrates the side material of the dress, the overall sense of layering is much richer than a solid-color look.
An occasional breeze blew past during the shoot, lifting the skirt hem and the wig, which instead turned into a wonderful opportunity for dynamic motion capture. This slight sense of agility brought by a live shoot is very difficult to replicate completely in post-production. Fixing the two horns on the headpiece also took some thought to ensure their positions stayed stable during movement changes. In post-processing, we didn't heavily alter the original lighting ratio or color temperature, but merely fine-tuned the overall translucency and local contrast to preserve that peaceful and bright feeling of a summer afternoon. I hope to fully convey the clean texture of this Theresa Cosplay in the Ephemeral Azure Thunder look to everyone through this piece of Cosplay photography.
