Tingyun's New Year Chinese-style coordinate is finally here! To match the festive holiday ambiance, I specifically selected this modified Chinese-style dress centered around an auspicious red palette. The cut fits snugly against the silhouette, seamlessly blending white contrast panels with vibrant red printed motifs—which not only flatters fair skin tones, but also sculpts bodily curves beautifully. To capture her signature characteristics, I wore her iconic black-and-white fox ears paired with a long wig sporting a reddish gradient. For makeup, I deepened the eyeshadow blending and donned vivid green circle lenses, striving to channel that uniquely sly, enchanting allure distinct to Tingyun.
The shoot took place at the Fugui Meow Photo Studio. Stepping into the studio, the sea of crimson plum blossoms, large red lanterns, and gigantic "Fu" fortune character plaques instantly dialed the bustling holiday excitement up to max. The Chinese carved wooden daybed paired with blue-and-white porcelain vases within the set exuded rich antique flair, complemented nearby by strings of golden ingots and lion dance props. To balance out the sweetness of all the red, I draped an ultra-plush black fur stole around my shoulders. Beyond keeping me warm, this oversized stole served as a fantastic posing prop—casually sliding off one shoulder to reveal the strapless, form-fitting bodice and collarbones, complemented by glossy black stiletto heels. This created a relaxed, effortlessly sultry aesthetic that visually elongated my leg lines.
In terms of posing, I aimed for an unhurried, captivating presence. Reclining languidly across the daybed lined with a white plush throw, I naturally crossed and extended my legs, utilizing the heels to lengthen the visual lines of the limbs. Because the skirt features a slit, adjusting my reclining posture cleanly showed off the leg contours. Whether fluttering a red folding fan or idly toying with small golden baubles while locking eyes with the camera, I wanted to foster a magnetic connection across the screen. I also made full use of a red sheer ribbon sash draped gently between my arms to infuse airy movement, ensuring the composition retained both alluring charm and the character's classical poise.
The entire shoot went exceptionally smoothly. The Viltrox lens focused with lightning speed, which—alongside amaran lighting rigs—sculpted delicate fabric textures and beautifully luminous skin tones even in an indoor studio setting. The raw shots were already stunning; post-processing via Meitu Cloud Retouch balanced the skin tones and ambient color temperature, giving the festive red hues a richer, purer saturation. A heartfelt thank-you to Kaiyuanji and our companions from the Zhuoying Society for their on-site guidance and help—adjusting the lighting and smoothing down the skirt together made this photo set possible. Infused with rich festive spirit, I hope this Tingyun cosplay brings everyone the joy of the New Year season.
