For this Cartethyia Cosplay set from Wuthering Waves, the core focus was capturing that serene, ethereal yet languid aesthetic of the 2D character. Adhering the Elf ears took considerable time, but paired with blue contact lenses and pink-toned eye makeup, the facial look appeared wonderfully translucent before the lens. The black cutout design of the dress placed strict demands on posture; however, to convey lightness in the composition, I deliberately chose to pose barefoot atop the white bedsheets. This not only allowed my leg lines to extend naturally, but also freed me from the constraints of high heels, putting my entire state of being into deep relaxation.
The shooting location was an indoor space featuring a large floor-to-ceiling window, with a green lawn and white tents visible outside (Outdoor photography ambience). Soft afternoon natural light diffused inside, casting a gentle, dreamy texture across the entire frame. Interacting with the two blue-and-white plush dolls beside me greatly relieved any stiff posing tension; simply maintaining a casual posture and gazing toward the camera allowed the photographer to capture many effortless, relaxed candid moments. In post-processing, we intentionally graded the color palette toward cool tones while slightly boosting exposure, making the blue star ornaments stand out with vibrant clarity. Opportunities to complete a character portrayal in such a comfortable environment are rare, and every fine adjustment was made to elevate authentic realism.
The photoshoot went exceptionally smoothly that day. Accumulating these subtle nuances gave me a fresh perspective on the character, and I hope this photo set invites everyone to experience a unique, distinct journey within Wuthering Waves.
