[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Elegant and Sweet Maid Cosplay Photoshoot inside a Blue Archive Classroom

The Shimoe Koharu maid styling under a classroom background was set as the main keynote of this shoot during the early preparation stage. In combination with the character personality traits from Blue Archive, this cosplay photoshoot chose a real-scene shoot inside a classroom that features a large area of blackboard and wooden student desks.

In terms of clothing, the pink and white color-matched short maid dress is the core of this look. This garment is highly clean in color, with a pink skirt hem and puff sleeves, paired with a white ruffled apron featuring red heart-shaped buttons, creating an excellent visual layering. The large bow at the neckline and the small flower decorations at the waist add several notches of cuteness to the details of the entire dress. The dark grey feather wings accessory on the back is a highly unique part of the whole look; it introduces a sliver of small contrast and individuality into the originally soft pink and white main color tone. The lower skirt hem stacks multiple layers of lace, which, paired with black chunky-heeled Mary Jane shoes and white ruffled short socks, keeps the overall silhouette and proportions well-controlled, fitting that light and agile feeling in the character setup.

For prop preparation, I brought a manga book and a dessert tray. When sitting while holding the manga book, it can express the quiet side of the character; while standing while carrying that pink ice cream dessert, it can naturally spill a playful expression. In a classroom setting like this, these props keep the frame from looking monotonous. During the shoot, full use was made of the desk height; whether standing on one leg or sitting sideways on the desktop, it allowed postures to appear organic and not stiff. The photographer also beautifully captured these dynamic moments, combining different props and stances to present the character's possible everyday routine on campus.

Environmental elements are highly crucial in this photoshoot. The mathematical formulas and geometric shapes on the blackboard, along with the globe and clock in the corner, maximized the atmosphere. This real-life campus scene, combined with the dreamily colored 2D anime maid outfit, generated a wonderful chemical reaction. Standing in front of a blackboard written with complex formulas while wearing a classroom maid outfit gives the overall frame both the seriousness of an academic background and the lively contrast brought by the character.

In terms of photography and post-processing, the light chose a relatively bright warm tone, aiming to highlight the garment fabric texture and the character's skin tone. The wig was styled into pink and white twintails, topped with a bow and beast-ear-shaped accessories, and the hair texture looked quite smooth under the light. The makeup focused on a clear and translucent feel this time, with emphasis placed on the color combination of the eye makeup, wanting to restore that clear yet slightly stubborn gaze of the character. Through switching between different camera angles, such as a level frontal standing view or a slightly high-angle sitting view, the character's cuteness and confidence were better expressed.

When communicating with the photographer beforehand, we hoped this set of photos would achieve a visual replication. During the shooting process, the placement of the desks and chairs, the orientation of the standing posture, and the angle of the props held in hand all underwent meticulous adjustments. The wearing position of the black wings was also specially fixed to coordinate with the maid dress, avoiding any impact on the visual cleanliness of the overall styling. Some energy was spent during post-processing to unify the skin tone and clothing colors, ensuring that the pink and white could transition naturally, while making sure the green of the background blackboard and the yellow of the desks wouldn't overshadow the subject.

This classroom photoshoot experience was highly fulfilling. From completing the hair and makeup to entering the scene, and down to every click of the shutter, the sense of freshness brought by the character onto my body could be truly felt. Every attempt at a different theme leads to a deeper understanding of cosplay. This set of photos under a classroom background records the current state, and I hope this photoshoot allows everyone to see the vivid appearance of this character in the 3D world, adding a wonderful piece to our anime-style photography creations.
