Today, I'm sharing this set of Fuuka Aikiyo's casual look, shot in a quiet grove outside the convention venue using the natural afternoon light. In Fuuka's usual settings, although this light blue and white private outfit is simple, its cut and silhouette perfectly match her temperament, so I tried to aim for clean lines in the outfit coordination.
The styling of the wig was one of the main focuses; the black hair combined with the blue-green gradient at the tips adds layers to the overall look besides making it look cute and well-behaved. The length of the straight bangs was perfectly controlled to frame the face without blocking the vision. The white beret on top of the head and the red geometric halo prop are the soul of the outfit; to keep them fixed, some hidden clips were added at the roots of the hair and the edges of the hat. For makeup, I chose a radiant, natural base, paired with pink-purple colored contacts, attempting to recreate an innocent eye makeup effect with a subtle glow.
The Guangzhou ACG Power Expo on the day of the shoot was actually very bustling, but fortunately, we found this secluded corner with a lawn and greenery. The light blue of the clothes forms a highly comfortable contrast with the plants, and the background blur brought by the wide aperture beautifully separates the character from the complex environment. The first snapshot of kneeling and looking back is an angle I'm personally very satisfied with; the fabric of the pleated skirt naturally spreads out upon sitting, and paired with white lace-trimmed socks and black round-toe leather shoes, the overall completion turned out quite well.
Afterward, we adjusted the positioning, using the outdoor bench and interaction with a bag to add a touch of daily life breath. Both the posture of holding the bag and the action of leaning back on the chair were done while immersing myself into the character's daily state as much as possible. During the shoot, I was constantly fine-tuning the direction of the skirt hem to prevent it from looking unnatural while standing. Rotating through several angles with different compositions brought out distinct styles in the final photos, featuring both close-up shots to showcase details and full-body shots to display the overall proportions of the outfit.
The lighting for this outdoor shoot was very soft, without the harsh shadows brought by direct strong sunlight, so the skin tone and clothing texture were restored quite accurately. Although it is a relatively basic casual cosplay setting, the simpler the outfit, the more it tests the precision of the details. While balancing the character's traits, I also integrated some of my own understanding of her, hoping this photo set can convey that quiet and gentle sense of daily life through Anime-style photography.
