From preparation to final execution, putting together this Lunar New Year Qipao styling took nearly a month. To perfectly capture that vibrant and playful charm from the character design, the gold thread embroidery and frog closure details on the costume alone were revised three times. Choosing the plush stole outerwear was also quite particular—it needed to offer a fluffy sense of warmth on camera without appearing bulky or compromising the overall waistline proportions.

Styling the wig was a major challenge this time. The gradient layers of blue and gray demanded meticulous handling, and the way the bangs and sideburns framed the face dictated the overall facial contour. The beast ear accessories atop the head were not only a key source of volume, but directly tied into conveying the character's temperament. To secure these ears and the dangling red tassels, nearly half a box of bobby pins was used on the day of the shoot, with seamless concealment between the ear accessories and hair strands to ensure no immersion-breaking flaws from any shooting angle.

For the set on the day of the shoot, we chose a seamless pure white backdrop, maximizing the visual impact of the red, black, and gold garment texture. Because the modified Qipao inherently possesses strong structural lines, complemented by sheer tulle and lace trim designs, constant communication with the photographer was essential regarding lighting—using light and shadow to showcase the fabric's layers while preventing overexposure in the white areas. The props prepared this time were also very plentiful; alongside a folding fan, a generous amount of Lunar New Year-themed red envelopes was prepared, both enriching the composition and naturally guiding hand gestures.

Pairing high heels with White stockings was actually not easy when holding seated poses for prolonged periods. To showcase leg lines while maintaining harmony in the frame, I experimented with various sitting postures. When sitting cross-legged on the white round ottoman, props were needed to guide the drape of the skirt and avoid awkward angles. Every time the shutter clicked, I tried to channel the character's calm, confident presence, infusing the festive Lunar New Year spirit into every gaze and gesture in this Cosplay photography.

This shoot was a brand-new endeavor in capturing character costume details and expressive camera presence. Through these lights and shadows, I hope to convey this unique charm.
