[Kiryuu Kikyou cosplay] Blue Archive: Summer Poolside Photoshoot

This shoot by an outdoor poolside was chosen primarily to catch the tail end of summer. The sunlight was blazing that day and the temperature was quite high; standing outdoors in this Blue Archive Kiryuu Kikyou swimsuit was a genuine test of sunscreen and physical endurance. The wig was shoulder-length straight black hair cut with blunt bangs, requiring constant brushing to prevent flyaways. The animal ears headband at the crown was the soul of this styling—the moment it was on, the entire aura transformed instantly. The slender black choker around the neck paired with the deep navy bikini created crisp visual layering. The bikini straps featured delicate detailing, so I adjusted the tension carefully before heading out to ensure nothing looked loose or slack on camera. The swimsuit top featured three-dimensional white floral accents, layered under a white cloak printed with light blue geometric lines that fluttered naturally as I moved, injecting a touch of dynamic lightness. My nails were pre-painted with dark polish to echo the overarching color scheme.

The shooting location was a poolside featuring a round glass table, surrounded by verdant greenery alongside white wrought-iron flower stands and clusters of white and purple hydrangeas. Light streamed in from behind and to the side, casting crisp reflections across the glass tabletop. Perching atop the transparent glass surface, I could feel the radiant warmth reflecting upward from the water and tabletop. The first set of poses was a full-profile seated posture with legs naturally dropped to display full-body contours; the second featured an over-the-shoulder glance, requiring a slight torso twist with arms resting comfortably on the table. While appearing relaxed, keeping my core engaged meant my waist muscles were continually working behind the scenes. Standing barefoot on glass demanded finding my center of gravity carefully, as the surface was slick and called for steady control. The photographer captured plenty of candid moments, and the flared hemline and cloak looked wonderful as breezes caught them.

Because we shot outdoors, lighting shifted rapidly; to guarantee image quality, we utilized reflectors and diffusion panels to balance the fill light. The blue ripples of the pool contrasted vividly against the lush foliage and blossoms in the background. Between takes, I immediately slipped into sun-protective outerwear and drank water to restore energy. For makeup, warm-toned eyeshadow was paired with red lipstick to maintain a radiant complexion under intense sunlight. Overall, the swimsuit fabric was lightweight and never felt cumbersome near the water, though careful movement was still required to keep the ties in place. This Kiryuu Kikyou swimsuit look involved extensive attention to detail, and the pairing of the white cloak with the deep navy swimsuit offered maximum summer refreshment. From scouting the location to working with the daylight, everything flowed smoothly, yielding results that thoroughly satisfied me.
