[Tobiichi Origami Cosplay] Heart-Stealing Cat-Eared Origami at Nanning Liangya Winter Festival

Captured a set of Tobiichi Origami cosplay at the Nanning Liangya Winter Festival! This time I chose a more casual Animal ears cosplay styling. Compared to her standard school uniform or AST battle armor, this light blue plush off-the-shoulder mini dress feels delightfully soft and fluffy under convention indoor lighting. The long straight white hair wig was a core focus of this look; paired with her signature blue stripe markings on both sides, cat ears atop her head, and a cute little tail behind, I had to stay constantly attentive to wig frizz on camera—fortunately, the photographer was very quick on the shutter.

For makeup, I softened the sharpness of the eye makeup, using contact lenses to highlight a cool blue-eyed effect, keeping the overall tone low-saturation to match the outfit. To recreate character accessories, I specifically selected a large pink satin bow tie and metallic golden bells; placing these elements on the neckline and wrists nicely neutralized the distant feeling of cold color tones. The brown leather choker around my neck and ribbon accents on ankles also guided the visual focus smoothly onto my leg and upper body lines, preventing the look from feeling plain.

The camera setup used this time was a Fujifilm XS20 paired with a 56mm lens. At a comprehensive convention like Nanning Liangya Winter Festival, shooting angles face significant constraints from crowd flow and venue space. The photographer found a relatively clean floor area, using a white circular plush rug as a prop to simulate a cozy home vibe while clearly separating my white hair and light blue outfit from the grey venue floor. We adjusted seated poses several times—glancing back over my shoulder and resting a hand near my cat ear were kept as relaxed as possible, since stiff posing clashes with the natural charm of cat ears styling. A shallow depth of field blurred passing pedestrians in these Convention photos, keeping visual focus sharply on the character's demeanor. I'm quite satisfied with the final result, blending the fluffy softness of plush elements with Origami's inherent cool aloofness. Everyone put in tremendous care, and post-processing avoided artificial sharpening to preserve natural skin lighting nuances.

During the convention, I ran into several fellow Date A Live fans who recognized this look, chatting casually about convention schedules in a super relaxed atmosphere. Choosing this casual outfit was an intentional decision to capture a unique ambient vibe amidst crowded halls without the hassles of cumbersome battle gear, making it easy to find impromptu shoot spots while wandering around. However, because venue lighting was complex, ambient overhead lights occasionally created bright highlights on the white wig, requiring quick focus tracking. Fortunately, the hair sheen in the final photos beautifully accentuated the softness of the plush collar. I hope Nanning's convention energy remains this vibrant, and I look forward to capturing more satisfying work at future offline events!
