[Tushan Honghong cosplay] When it comes to spiritual power alone, how many throughout history could truly surpass me?

"When it comes to spiritual power alone, how many throughout history could truly surpass me?" This line served as the core concept for this Tushan Honghong cosplay. I recently shot this set at a convention, aiming to capture that composed yet domineering aura of a paramount demon. To achieve this presence, I paid meticulous attention to the costume. The top features a classic pink crossover collar with subtly shimmering fabric, paired with wide white outer sleeves that billow gracefully in motion. A wide red sash cinches the waist, with two gold-patterned red ribbons hanging in front, accented with small bells and golden tassels. The long blonde hair and massive kemonomimi ears are the soul of the look, swaying with the movement during the shoot. For footwear, I chose chunky clear-strap heels paired with golden anklets, visually elongating the legs for a sleek silhouette.

The venue was crowded on the day of the shoot, filled with light stands, tripods, and passersby. To avoid the cluttered background, the photographer found spots with darker backdrops and overhead lighting. Using the strong contrast of the top light to separate the subject from the dark background kept the composition clean and made post-processing VFX much cleaner.

I designed the three poses beforehand to emphasize agility and power. The first pose uses a single-leg stance with arms outstretched, letting the wide sleeves sweep into an arc to evoke a sense of lightness and demonic grace. The second has both hands raised with palms up, as if releasing a mystical formation or barrier, which required firm balance and a commanding gaze. The third pose is my favorite and the most demanding on core strength: an extremely low side squat with the left leg extended and right leg bent, captured from a low angle to accentuate the line of the extended leg and maximize visual tension. Holding balance was tough and strained my knees, but I wanted that sense of effortless intimidation—a casual stance hiding immense destructive power. The anklet was deliberately showcased to add layered detail.

Beyond live shooting, post-production visual effects were essential. The orange-gold streams of flame circling my body directly echo the lore of erupting demonic energy. I had the photographer add ground reflections and apply motion blur to the white sleeves and red ribbons, seamlessly blending them so it looks as if a powerful technique was just unleashed, with the garments still rippling through the energized air.

Pulling off this look at a convention was physically challenging—the kemonomimi ears and long wig were heavy, and holding high-tension poses was exhausting. Still, bringing a beloved character to life made every bit of effort worth it. I am sharing these photos to document this unique presence and the collaborative shoot, hoping that intense dedication comes through to everyone who sees it.
