[Tushan Susu cosplay] Cute outfit: Daoist-Style Maiden Charm

The moment I put on this pink-and-blue gradient attire, my whole mood felt instantly light and cheerful. The outfit design features crisp, distinct layers: a vibrant pink outer robe layered over a pure white middle robe, paired with a soft light blue cross-collar undergarment. The wide flowing water sleeves offer fantastic drape, spliced at the cuffs with a delicate gradient of pink, white, and pale mint green that brings an airy, floating grace whenever my arms move. To match the ensemble, I specifically chose a golden-yellow wig styled with a bouncy ahoge on top, flanked by fluffy brown plush animal ears on both sides. Adding these props and accessories immediately dialed up both the ancient aesthetic charm and fantastical feel of the look.

For the makeup, I wore green contact lenses paired with pink eyeshadow and blush, accentuating a youthful, sweet, and doll-like visage. During the shoot, holding the brightly colored rainbow lollipop and candied hawthorn (tanghulu) props created a lovely visual harmony with the outfit's palette. In the second full-body shot, I spread the voluminous sleeves wide, allowing the red sash and long golden bell tassels to cascade naturally, pairing them with clear high-heeled sandals and a golden anklet to bring out the character's lively, playful spirit as much as possible.

While preparing for this cosplay, I spent substantial effort studying the wardrobe layering. With multiple layers of fabric, the color proportions and stitching of each layer required meticulous attention to ensure the best possible texture on camera. The studio lighting was delightfully crisp and translucent on shooting day. To capture optimal angles, the photographer and I tested numerous prop-holding poses. When holding up the lollipop and tanghulu, we had to ensure the props stayed prominent in the frame without blocking key facial lighting. Though the gestures looked effortless, making the wide sleeves form graceful curves required constant core tension through the arms and waist, making the session surprisingly tiring.

Since this was my first time taking on this look, I reviewed many reference images beforehand and tailored the wig's bang density to suit my face shape, and I was thrilled with the final result. Nailing the gaze and expression was equally crucial—a slight head tilt, an upturned smile, and an aura of innocent curiosity instantly brought the entire frame to life. This finished set truly fulfilled a little dream of mine. Completing a cosplay project—from makeup tests and wig styling to the final studio shoot—involves a lot of hard work, but the moment you see the finished photos, all the exhaustion simply fades away.
