This shoot at Chimelong Water Park was scheduled for the morning when the lighting was just right, and the sparkling reflections on the water surface were perfect for a swimsuit photoshoot. I wore a white bikini paired with a sheer lace tulle skirt; since I had to step into the water, maintaining leg stability was quite a challenge. Because the twintails and animal ears could easily get wet, most of the poses in the water were done in single takes to avoid excessive movement.
The character Shiroko Sunaookami naturally carries a cool, composed demeanor. Matching this with the summer swimsuit theme, the photographer and I decided on clean, minimal poses—such as holding onto the railing while glancing back or standing in the water looking straight into the lens—to convey that charming contrast through posture. During the actual shooting, we repeatedly adjusted the movements to capture the dynamic effect of water droplets dripping from my toes, and the glistening water drops turned out stunningly.
Across the entire venue, the blue water, yellow steps, and thatched-hut backdrops nicely brought out the game atmosphere of Blue Archive. In post-processing, we preserved the natural shimmer of the water's surface as much as possible while delicately refining the skin texture. Although I stayed in the water for quite a while, the final results were ideal, fully capturing the refreshing vitality of a summer water park.
This time, I tried a swimsuit style that highlights body contours; the black trim on the bikini clearly outlined the silhouette, while the short skirt added great layering. Since standing in water alters leg lines due to refraction and perspective, choosing the right camera angles was crucial to optimize proportions. The facilities at Chimelong Water Park are richly colored, which, paired with the silver-white hair, created a very pleasant and cohesive visual palette.
Standing directly in the water with light refraction made seamless communication with the photographer essential, requiring precise control over facial expressions. White fabrics can easily become see-through when wet, so proper safety measures were prepared in advance to ensure a smooth, secure shoot where I could fully focus on expressions and body language. This swimsuit photoshoot was a truly special experience; while aquatic poses demand high stability, the final photos delivered just the right atmosphere.
