Stepping away from official duties for a brief moment in the tavern. Today's Velina cosplay went through extensive deliberation and refining, from garment styling to set ambiance. The art style of Zenless Zone Zero inherently carries a distinctive retro-urban flair, and Velina as a character embodies both elegance and sharp capability. To faithfully capture that aura, significant effort was invested in fabric sourcing; we ultimately chose deep blue velvet with a lustrous sheen, complemented by a crisp white shirt and metallic medallion accents, which immediately carved out dimensional layering across the entire silhouette.

Wig care was another core focus. The long, light purplish-gray hair needed to preserve both airy fluffiness and smooth drape. The oversized white bow atop the head and the capelet ribbons at the back easily shifted out of shape when moving or posing, requiring frequent touch-ups from the makeup artist between takes. Affixing the elf ear props was equally technical, demanding skin wax and prosthetic adhesive to blend the edges seamlessly so they appeared naturally seamless.

The shooting location was scouted in a highly atmospheric vintage tavern. Warm orange walls, assorted liquor bottles arranged across wooden bar shelves, leather sofas, and studded armchairs came together to echo the character's calm composure amidst urban noise. During shooting, I utilized the folding fan in hand to design several distinct gestures—such as sitting on a barstool with legs crossed, or leaning against the sofa edge gazing back over my shoulder with the fan held high—using body language to project an unruffled, poised presence.

The photographer's lighting was impeccably calibrated; overhead pendant lamps mixed with warm side lights highlighted the rich texture of the deep blue fabric, while the over-the-knee white lace Stockings revealed gorgeous depth under the interplay of light and shadow. In front of the camera, I constantly modulated my gaze and facial muscles. Purplish-pink contacts paired with slightly upturned eyeliner, coupled with lowered eyes glancing upward or smiling in profile, effectively conveyed the character's mysterious yet subtly languid allure.

Every time I cosplay, this entire creative process is what I cherish most. From receiving the concept art to gradually turning fabric, wigs, and props into tangible reality, and finally immersing myself entirely before the lens—it goes beyond costume imitation into genuine character interpretation and rebirth. The tight tavern setting demanded constant weight shifts and angular adjustments to suit the camera frame while maintaining effortless elegance, posing a real test of stamina and focus. Thankfully, the final tavern portrait shots met every expectation, infusing each frame with narrative resonance. Folding the fan away, it's time to head back to work.
