[Wis'adel cosplay] Arknights Tower of Babel Stage play comes to a successful close at Shenzhen Anime Festival

From July 25 to 26, 2026, during the 15th Shenzhen Anime Festival, the Tower of Babel Stage play officially went on stage. The team devoted a huge amount of effort preparing for this performance over this period, and today I can finally share this Shenzhen Anime Festival trip with everyone.

Organizing a cosplay team of over thirty people, especially for a Stage play centered around the Tower of Babel and W (Wis'adel) from Arknights, was indeed a considerable test in terms of early preparation and on-site execution. From the detailed crafting of costumes to the choreography of stage movements, we went through countless revisions and adjustments in between. This performance was not just a simple convention walkthrough, but a complete performance with formal plot arrangement and stage positioning.

Coincidentally, our rehearsal and performance schedule coincided with a team member's birthday. So during breaks between performances, everyone secretly prepared a cake and held a pop-up birthday party right backstage. Being able to celebrate a birthday during the creation of a Stage play with friends brought together by a shared passion felt truly wonderful.

Shenzhen in late July is extremely hot. Although we were inside the air-conditioned convention center, wearing these fully enclosed tactical stage costumes paired with heavy wigs and props, walking around the stage for a few laps left us completely drenched in sweat. However, hearing feedback from the audience below and having many fellow enthusiasts come over to praise our level of accuracy during breaks made me feel quite fulfilled inside.

I was responsible for presenting Wis'adel, which is W, in this Stage play. To stay as close to the character's battlefield aura as possible, every tactical pouch, strap on the costume, and the paint job on the weapon props were crafted with great care by our prop team. Some armor pieces even broke off during rehearsal, and we repaired them overnight. When the spotlights hit us during the performance, all the previous hard work became worth it.

This Stage play experience at the Shenzhen Anime Festival also allowed me to meet many new friends in the community. Offstage, everyone helped each other touch up hair and makeup; onstage, we cooperated with each other to complete all positioning and spot movements. I deeply felt that for a performance form like a Stage play, any individual's charm is inseparable from team collaboration.

Although this gear was indeed suffocatingly hot, we received a lot of recognition from the audience and even achieved great results when returning to the stage. We demonstrated that slightly rebellious yet crucial trait of the character on stage and interpreted the curtain call of the Tower of Babel chapter through plot arrangement.

I am truly exhausted, but this trip to the Shenzhen Anime Festival made me feel extremely happy. Especially seeing the bouquet of flowers in my hand, as well as the trophy and certificate our team won together, all the hard work was not in vain. The Shenzhen Anime Festival will continue next year, and I hope we can meet everyone on the CJ stage next year in even better shape.
