The coastal breeze often carries a cool, briny chill. For this shoot, we specifically chose a coastline transitioning from late afternoon into dusk and the Blue Hour. Regarding this Venti cosplay from Genshin Impact, the costume recreates detailed metallic accents and teal-blue trims across the white shorts and midriff-baring top. Expansive semi-sheer gossamer drapery attached along both arms flutters effortlessly when catching the wind, simulating a visual extension akin to wings. In terms of props, this wooden Harp prop was heavier than expected; holding it required constant wrist control to maintain a natural, relaxed plucking posture for our Outdoor photography.
Throughout the shoot, we navigated rugged coastal rocks and soft sandy beaches. The second dynamic snapshot was captured by quickly spinning around near the seawall breakwater, freezing the moment as the white fabric and sheer sleeves billowed in the air with wonderful dynamic tension. The third photo, featuring a kneeling posture on the beach, utilized a low-angle warm fill light from the front-side, accentuating facial contours, leg lines, and the texture of bare feet on the sand with crisp dimensionality. This contrast between warm subject tones and the cool background instantly clarified the ambient mood. To embody the bard persona, all poses deliberately avoided rigid exertion, letting bodily lines express an effortless, leisurely ease.
This costume made specific trade-offs between breathability and range of motion—for example, the cut and hem curvature of the shorts physically limited deep crouching, meaning many poses were results of fine-tuning foot placement and gaze angles. Every cosplay carries physical constraints distinct from daily clothing, yet that is part of what makes roleplay so immersive. Insects were plentiful along the coast, and strong ocean gusts occasionally ruffled wig strands, but the post-processed result remained clean and natural. The Harp prop's details carry a vintage charm, with gilded trims and wood luster showing rich texture under evening natural light. The shoot lasted over two hours, progressing from pre-sunset twilight until complete darkness; the blue-gray sea in the third photo captured that fleeting transition just before night fell during the Blue Hour. As a Genshin Impact character embodying freedom and the anemo element, shooting in such an expansive coastal environment delivered unpredictable, lifelike vitality far surpassing studio sets. The harmony of wind and waves is truly what freedom looks like.
