I've been looking forward to this Keqing cosplay for a long time. From wig styling to costume details, every step was done to faithfully restore the temperament of the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing in Genshin Impact. The color scheme of this outfit is very striking, with a light purple and white top paired with a skirt featuring a pink lining, creating rich layers. I specifically chose glossy stockings with white totem patterns, which, paired with black high heels, visually elongate the leg lines for this stockings cosplay setup. During the shoot, I tried various poses—sitting, side-lying, kneeling, and standing on one leg—hoping to convey Keqing's vibe of combining a leader's composure with swift, decisive efficiency. The folding fan and ribbons in my hands were important props, and capturing them fluttering in motion really tested the photographer's reaction speed. The venue was an indoor hall at an anime convention, where the blue-purple ambient lighting matched the character's original color tone perfectly, creating a dreamy cool-toned atmosphere for these convention photos. However, the venue floor was highly reflective and the lighting was complex, putting quite a high demand on editing. I tried my best to preserve the original photo texture without excessive skin smoothing or liquifying, aiming to present a more authentic version of myself. As for Keqing's personality, I really admire her hands-on, efficiency-driven attitude—just as she says, 'If we waste too much time, we won't get everything done.' These convention photos were taken from several angles, each with a different feel. I'm most satisfied with the final one standing on one leg, as maintaining core stability while controlling the angles of the skirt hem and fan required high body control. The outfit features many details like bows and waist ornaments, which I repeatedly adjusted before shooting to ensure they weren't crooked. The cat-ear shape of the headpiece is quite cute and serves as a key element in holding the hairstyle. Combining white gloves and arm sleeves made the overall styling even more exquisite. In fact, the process of cosplaying is never simple; from makeup and wig trimming to putting on all accessories, it often takes two to three hours. But seeing that vivid character brought to life in the photos makes all the hard work totally worth it. Without relying on overly complex special effects this time, we depended on lighting and my own posing, hoping to share the beauty of this Keqing cosplay with more people. Also, the patterns on the stockings were very eye-catching in close-ups, and they didn't snag or tear after wearing them all day—really great quality. Standing in high heels for a long time made my feet a bit sore, but sticking through it was worth it for the photo results. I feel the essence of cosplay isn't just physical similarity, but more importantly understanding the character's mindset and demeanor. So when striking every pose, I imagined what kind of expression Keqing would wear if she were truly standing here. The biggest challenge during this shoot was lighting; strong overhead lights at the venue easily caused overexposure, so I asked the photographer to use reflectors to fill in facial light, keeping facial features clear while preserving rim lighting. I really love the cool, crisp, and sharp texture in the final photos. I hope to have more opportunities in the future to bring my favorite characters into reality.
