[Marisa Kirisame cosplay] Touhou Project black and white magician fanon interpretation

Today's fanon styling for Marisa Kirisame really took a lot of thought from design draft to actual implementation. Among the many fanon interpretations in Touhou Project, this style leaning towards a combination of Gothic and Lolita is extremely eye-catching.
First, about the wig: classic light gold, with blunt bangs in the front and a thick braided pigtail on the side. This hairstyle needs to be styled to be fluffy and layered, without using too much hairspray, otherwise it will look stiff. When wearing the wig, special attention must be paid to the hairline transition, adjusting the tightness of the wig cap to ensure no headaches even during long shoots.
In terms of makeup, to highlight the 2D texture, amber-colored contact lenses were worn. The eye makeup deepened the contours, emphasizing the lower lashes and aegyosal, while blush and highlighter were applied to the nose tip and cheeks to make the facial features more dimensional.
The clothing is the main event of this outfit. Black and white are the main color tones, accented with golden stars, purple flowers, and pink accessories. The inner layer is a white shirt, layered with a black corset outside. The corset has a strong tightening feel, but to present perfect lines, tightening the laces requires pulling them in bit by bit. The black lace arm sleeves and the lace ruffles on the chest increased the overall magnificence.
The skirt features an extremely complex asymmetric design. The inner layer is a multi-layered white pleated skirt with lace edges, and the outer layer is a black transparent tulle long train. When walking, the train floats naturally, looking very ethereal.
The lower body is paired with black diamond-patterned tights, adorned with small white bows at the thighs, and black glossy chunky-heeled Mary Jane shoes. Although the heels are a bit high, the soles are relatively soft, making standing and shooting for a while somewhat acceptable.
In terms of props, this long-handled broom or magic staff is custom-made. The staff body is twisted, wrapped with decorative vines, and hangs a glowing orange small lantern, while the broom bristles at the bottom feature a small skirt hem with lace. Holding it in hand is actually quite heavy, requiring arm strength to stabilize it during shooting while maintaining an elegant posture—this is indeed physical work.
The shooting environment this time was indoors with a vintage bookshelf and green plants. Warm yellow lighting hit the lantern and the lace on the clothing, producing a gorgeous light-spot effect. During the shoot, the photographer had me lift the skirt hem or hold the prop, using light and shadow contrast to highlight the character subject. For a 2D cosplayer, it's necessary not only to restore the clothing, but also to imbue the character with a soul through gaze and body language. This fanon version of Marisa has a bit less of the original's playfulness and a bit more mystery and elegance. Although the whole process was exhausting, seeing the finished photos made all the hard work worth it.
