To participate in this submission for the PSD Annual Ceremony, I have organized all the cosplay official photos accumulated over the past year.
Over the past year, I have indeed tried many styles in different directions. From the casual street style in Figure 2, featuring a pink wig paired with a black leather jacket and a green rabbit plush toy at the waist; to the blue-haired cat-ear swimsuit in the summer beach scene of Figure 3; to the dark combat style in Figure 4, lying sideways on a floor with red glowing crack special effects while wearing black Stockings. Figure 7 is the Traditional Chinese style Qipao look, a red-and-gold dress paired with red strapped high heels; back then, to capture that tension, I held a single-leg-up pose for a long time. There is also the casino Bunny girl in Figure 12, wearing fishnet Stockings and finding angles on a table filled with gold bars and banknotes. In addition, there are official photos of various styles such as the fantasy giant scythe at the convention site (Figure 5), the cyberpunk-style squatting pose with a handgun (Figure 11), as well as traditional Japanese style (Figure 10) and Chinese vintage style (Figure 9).
Every shoot is not as simple as just putting on clothes. From wig trimming and styling, repeated makeup adjustments, to various prop making and on-site lighting, every step requires a lot of thought. For example, when shooting the dark style, to match the red glowing crack special effects on the ground, I needed to maintain a sideways-lying posture for a long time while facing strong flashlights, simultaneously balancing my gaze and the position of the weapon. When shooting the Traditional Chinese style Qipao look, stepping on extremely high red high heels and striking a single-leg-up pose was a huge test for core strength, while also ensuring that the folds of the clothes presented the best state in front of the lens. The shiny-material costume of the casino Bunny girl was extremely stuffy, and wearing fishnet Stockings while searching back and forth on the table for the right angle left me completely drenched in sweat after the shoot.
Shooting at a convention site is another kind of experience. Like Figures 5 and 11, surrounded by crowds, one must quickly enter the state in a noisy environment without external interference, find the right lens, and control facial expressions. Walking around the exhibition hall for a day wearing heavy props is a dual test of physical strength and mindset. Sometimes, to wait for an exquisite piece of natural light, I needed to stand in a specific position for a long time and cooperate with the photographer's various composition requirements.
Having tried so many styles this year, although the preparatory work and shooting process were hard every time, seeing the final finished photos makes me feel that all the effort is worth it. Big thanks to the photographers and logistics partners for their hard work, and thanks to the PSD Annual Ceremony for providing a display platform that allows me to share these carefully prepared visual works. I hope to unlock more challenging stylings next time, better restore the images in my mind, and continue to move forward steadily on the path of role-playing.
